(B) Prior Art and Problems FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a structure for mounting an electrostatic sensor unit on a fuel tank of an automobile incorporating a conventional in-tank pump. Fuel tank 1 is Atsupashiel 2
The upper shell 2 is joined to the lower shell 3 by seam welding, and the area of the upper surface 4 of the upper shell 2 is usually smaller than the bottom surface 5 of the lower shell 3 in order to match the floor structure. A maintenance hole 6 is provided at the end of the upper surface portion 4, and is normally covered by a cap 7. Also, in the fuel tank 1 below this cap 7, there is an in-tank pump 9 for sucking and pumping the fuel 8 into the fuel tank 1.
The rotating tank 11 is disposed on the bottom surface 10 of the tank. On the other hand, on the inside of the fuel tank 1 on the upper surface 4 of the fuel tank 1, that is, on the upper surface 12, there is an electrostatic sensor unit 15 (hereinafter referred to as sensor 15) consisting of two electrode plates 13 and 14 bent into a substantially dogleg shape. ] is installed. Since this sensor 15 is attached to the top surface 12, the electrode plates 13 and 15 are connected to each other using the so-called "top surface reference" which is based on the top surface 12.
In order to notify the remaining amount of fuel 8 by detecting the capacitance between the fuel tank 1 and the fuel tank 1, the fuel tank 1 is disposed along a line 16 connecting the equal liquid level points when the fuel 8 in the fuel tank 1 is oscillating (for example, (Special Application No. 58-787). "Isofluidic point"
is a point on the liquid surface of the fuel 8 that exists at the same location even when the fuel tank 1 is tilted in any direction or at any angle within a certain limit. That is, the line 16 connecting these equal liquid level points is the place in the fuel tank 1 where the liquid level fluctuates the least. Although it depends on the shape of the container, this equal liquid level point is almost always located in the center of the fuel tank 1 in a dogleg shape, so naturally the sensor 15 also
It will be installed in the center of the

However, in such a conventional fuel tank sensor mounting structure, the sensor 15 is mounted on the top surface 12 of the fuel tank 1, so the strength of the Atsupashiel 2, which is originally required on the top surface 12 of the fuel tank 1, is improved. It is not possible to provide a rigid bead to improve discharge performance and an evaporative separator to improve discharge performance and evaporation characteristics, and the in-tank pump 9 needs to be placed opposite the rotating tank 11 due to its suction characteristics. Part 4 In-tank pump 9
The maintenance hole 6 for attachment is located at a different location from the opening for attaching the sensor 15 located approximately in the center of the upper surface 4. Therefore, since two openings are provided in the upper surface 4, the fuel tank 1 This was also one of the causes of a decrease in the rigidity of the upper surface portion 4. Therefore, it is becoming desirable to eliminate the opening for attaching the sensor 15 and use the maintenance hole 6 for attaching the in-tank pump 9 to attach the sensor 15 to the bottom surface 10 of the fuel tank 1 from there. 15 on the lower surface 10 of the fuel tank 1, repair and inspection work is carried out through the maintenance hole 6 provided on the upper surface 4 of the fuel tank 1.
It will be a blind work by putting your hand in from the beginning, so align it,
It is predicted that work such as installation and fixing will be difficult.

First, the bracket 35 is previously attached to a predetermined position on the bottom surface 10 of the lower shell 3 by spot welding before the upper shell 2 and the lower shell 3 are joined by seam welding. Next, the sensor 19 is inserted into the fuel tank 1 through the maintenance hole 6. Then, attach the bottom part 34 of the sensor 19 to the fitting part 41 of the bracket 35.
When the sensor 19 is inserted, the lower surface of the bottom portion 34 comes into contact with the bottom surface 10 of the fuel tank 1, and at the same time, the vicinity of the lower bent portion 27 is supported by the edge of the fitting portion 41, so that the sensor 19 will not fall down even if the sensor 19 is released. , the fixing flange 28 of the sensor 19 at the same time as stabilizing the bottom part 34,
29 is the mounting flange 42, 43 of the bracket 35
and are positioned opposite to each other. At this time, both bolt holes 44 of the mounting flanges 42 and 43 are connected to the fixed flange 2.
They correspond to both bolt holes 31 No. 8 and No. 29, and can be fixed with bolts 30, respectively. Fixed flange 2
8 and 29 and the mounting flanges 42 and 43 are both inclined and their surfaces are directed toward the maintenance hole 6. This is because the bolt 30 can be easily operated even in blind work by inserting the hand through the maintenance hole 6 as described above. The sensor 19 is fixed at three locations, the fitting part 41 of the bracket 35 and the mounting flanges 42 and 43.
