Traditionally, traffic signals (hereinafter simply referred to as traffic lights) have a housing 1 with a plurality of light emitting elements (red light emitting element 2, yellow light emitting element 3,
It has a blue light emitting element 4), and the casing is supported by a support 5 on the road.

In the electric circuit of such a conventional traffic light, for example, as shown in FIG. 2, switches 6, 7, and 8 are connected in series to each of the light emitting elements 2, 3, and 4, respectively, and a power source 9 of direct current or commercial alternating current is connected thereto. Since such traffic lights indicate information by emitting light that can be seen and identified with the naked eye, it is impossible for blind people to understand them, and when exposed to direct sunlight, the lights emit light. Judgment becomes extremely difficult,
It also has the disadvantage that it is difficult to identify due to snow, heavy rain, fog, etc. Furthermore, there is a risk of falling asleep and missing traffic lights.

The present invention can eliminate these drawbacks all at once with a simple mechanism. In a traffic light that can be distinguished by a plurality of different emitted colors, it utilizes invisible information through modulation in addition to the emitted color identification function. The purpose is to obtain a traffic signal that can be used.

According to the present invention, it is possible to emit an invisible modulation signal in addition to the original emission color identification function, so this signal is received by a separate light receiving element, and preferably detected and amplified to cover the signal caused by the emission color identification, thereby increasing safety. It is possible to improve performance and increase functionality.

In FIG. 3, light emitting elements 2, 3, and 4 emitting red, yellow, and blue light are emitted by modulators 10, 11, and 12, and these modulators are connected to switches 6, 7, and 4, respectively.
The drive is controlled by 8. Modulators 10, 11,
The output of 12 is made to show either a constant cycle intermittent waveform as shown in FIG. 4a, or an intermittent waveform subjected to frequency modulation or phase modulation as shown in FIG.

In this case, if an element with fast intermittent response, such as a light emitting diode or a discharge luminous tube, is used as the light emitting element, the intermittent cycle can be set to several KHz or more, and the intermittent cycle can be set to a constant cycle as shown in Figure 4a above. When you do
For each of the light emitting elements, the intermittent cycle is set to, for example, 1000 Hz for red light emitting element 2, and 1000 Hz for yellow light emitting element 3.
The frequency of the blue light emitting element 4 is set to be different, such as 1800 Hz and 3200 Hz. Such high-speed intermittent light is completely invisible to the naked eye, and each of them is visually recognized in the same way as the light emitted from a conventional traffic light, so red, yellow, and blue can be distinguished. At the same time, since invisible information is added from each of these elements, this can be used for new uses as described later.

On the other hand, to obtain the modulation waveform shown in Figure 4b, frequency modulation (hereinafter referred to as FM) or phase modulation (hereinafter referred to as PM) is required.
What is necessary is to apply an intermittent signal to the light emitting element. In this case, a common carrier frequency may be used for each color, and only the FM or PM modulation signal may be made different depending on each emission color.

That is, the light emission that is intermittent at a constant period as shown in FIG.
If light is received by a phototransistor 15 or the like, amplified by an amplifier 16, frequency selected by band filters 17, 18, and 19, and the displays 20, 21, and 22 are driven, a display can be presented in accordance with the color instruction of the traffic light. Can be done.

In this case, the pass frequencies of band filters 17, 18, and 19 can be set to 1000, 1800, and 3200 Hz, respectively. Various types of display can be used, such as a color display that corresponds to a traffic light, an alarm sound, and a warning sound. In addition, when using the modulation waveform shown in FIG. 4b, as shown in FIG.
5 can be demodulated and the speaker 26 can generate a sound, which repeatedly sends out the sound "Tomare" in response to the red light emission, "Caution" in response to the yellow light emission, and "Caution" in response to the blue light emission. You can send out "recommendations".

When the configuration according to the present invention is applied to a traffic light, it is possible to ensure exactly the same signal effect as a conventional traffic light for cars or people without a light receiving device, and the same signal effect as a conventional traffic light for cars or people that have a light receiving device. In addition to this, traffic instructions can be transmitted through warning displays, etc., which is extremely effective. Furthermore, since the device of the present invention can be made to have the same external structure as a conventional device, for example, a traffic light, it is extremely advantageous even for those who are accustomed to using the device.
