[Detailed Description of the Invention] <<Industrial Application Field>> This invention relates to the most common cylindrical dry cell battery, and particularly relates to an improvement that makes it easier to identify whether the battery is an unused battery.

《Prior art》 In equipment that uses multiple dry batteries, if you accidentally mix unused and used batteries, the equipment will not only not work properly, but also the used batteries will become over-discharged. This can cause leakage or rupture, contaminating or damaging equipment.

To make it easy to tell whether a battery is unused or not, some recent dry batteries have a sealing tape attached to them at the manufacturing stage so as to cross the center of the positive terminal surface. The center of the positive electrode terminal surface is covered with this sealing tape, and this sealing tape is torn off when the battery is used. Therefore, a battery from which the sealing tape has been removed can be easily determined to be used or used.

<<Problems to be Solved by the Invention>> The seal tape described above is one of the very effective means for identifying whether a battery is unused or not. However, sometimes people without electrical knowledge install batteries into devices with the sealing tape still attached. In this case, the positive terminal cannot make electrical contact. In addition, the presence or absence of seal tape can only distinguish whether the battery has been used once (or attempted to be used) or whether it is unused, but it goes without saying that the battery with the seal tape removed cannot tell how much capacity remains. I don't understand at all.

For example, in the case of a radio, when a battery runs out of capacity and no longer works properly, it is replaced with a new battery and used until it no longer works. Mixed use with is unlikely to occur.

For example, in the case of battery-operated toys used by children, children often play by inserting and removing multiple batteries from the toys. Under such circumstances, mixed use is likely to occur, in which case the sealing tape described above becomes less effective.

This idea was devised in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, and its purpose was to create a cylindrical dry cell battery that would allow history information such as the number and frequency of times the battery was inserted into and removed from the device to be read from the exterior of the battery. It is about providing.

<<Operation>> When the terminal surface of the battery is set in a device, it comes into pressure contact with the terminal on the device side. When a battery is inserted into or removed from a device, the terminal surface of the battery rubs against the terminal of the device. In particular, the central convex surface of the positive electrode terminal surface strongly rubs against the terminal of the device. Every time the positive electrode terminal surface coated with the above-mentioned conductive paint rubs against a device terminal, the paint film is scratched or peeled off.

Reference numeral 10 denotes a cylindrical metal jacket with open upper and lower ends, in which a unit cell such as a manganese battery or an alkaline battery is housed. A negative terminal plate 12 is arranged on the lower end surface of the outer can 10, and a positive terminal plate 14 is arranged on the upper end surface. As is well known, the negative terminal plate 12 does not have a very large protrusion, but the positive terminal plate 14 has a distinct cylindrical protrusion in the center. Connect this protrusion to the center convex part 1
It is called 4a.

In this embodiment, the entire upper surface of the positive electrode terminal plate 14 is uniformly coated with conductive paint to form a coating film of an appropriate thickness. For example, a carbon-based conductive material is used as the conductive paint. Carbon has high electrical conductivity and is characterized by the fact that no oxide film is formed on its surface.

Further, if the surface of the positive electrode terminal plate 14 is a shiny metallic color, the conductive paint should be colored, for example, black or red, which stands out against the metallic color. In this way, if the conductive coating film is scratched or peeled off, the surface of the positive electrode terminal plate 14, which is the base material, will be clearly visible, making it easier to see the extent of the scratch or peeling.

In the illustrated embodiment, the entire upper surface of the positive terminal plate 14 is coated with conductive paint, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the central convex portion 14a of the positive terminal plate 14 is coated. It's fine just by itself. Conversely, the surface of the negative electrode terminal plate 12 may also be coated with a conductive paint.

<<Effects of the invention>> As explained in detail above, when the cylindrical dry battery according to this invention is set in a device, the central convex part of the positive terminal surface rubs against the terminal of the device, causing damage to that part. The conductive coating that has been formed may be scratched or peeled off. By looking at the scratches and peeling of the paint film, it is easy to tell that this battery has been used. In addition, if the battery is repeatedly inserted and removed from the device, the conductive coating on the positive terminal surface will become severely scratched and peeled off, indicating that this coating has been repeatedly used. I can tell from the scars. In addition to this effect, the conductive coating film also has the effect of reducing the contact resistance between the terminal of the device and the positive electrode of the battery.
