Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は人造大理石の製造法に関し、人造大理
石のベースの色調に半透明となる程度に着色され
た不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を成形型1の内面にス
プレーして硬化させることにより表面層2を形成
し、次でこの表面層2の内側にて成形型1内に大
理石のベースの色に不透明に着色した不飽和ポリ
エステル樹脂を流し込んで硬化せしめることを特
徴とする人造大理石の製造法に係るものである。

コートによる透明の表面層2を形成し、次で無機
質の微粉末充填材を加え大理石調の色に着色した
不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を表面層2の内側にて成
形型1内に流し込んで硬化させることにより、人
造大理石本体3の表面に表面層2がコートされた
人造大理石を得るようにしていた。ここで、表面
層2を形成するのは、大理石の石感を出したり補
強効果を得たりするために人造大理石本体3内に
充填されている無機質微粉末充填材が表面に表わ
れて人造大理石の表面の平滑さが損われることが
ないようにするためである。しかしながらかかる
従来例にあつては、表面層2が透明であるため大
理石特有の深みを表現することができず、また、
表面層2を形成するにあたつて不飽和ポリエステ
ルをスプレーしたのち硬化するまでの間放置する
必要があるため、この間に表面層2の内面にごみ
やほこりが付着することがあり、この場合このご
みやほこりが透明の表面層2を透して人造大理石
の表面に表われることとなり、外観不良の原因と
なるおそれがあつた。

以下本発明を実施例により説明する。先ず成形
型1の内周に不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を主成分と
する材料をスプレーガンで厚み0.2〜2.0mm程度に
塗布して硬化させ、ゲルコートによる表面層2を
形成する。この際、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂には
製造すべき人造大理石のベースの色調の着色剤が
少量添加して着色してある。着色剤の添加量は不
飽和ポリエステル樹脂の硬化による表面層2が半
透明になる程度の量として調整するものである。
このように成形型1の内面に表面層2を形成した
のち、この表面層の内側にて成形型1内に不飽和
ポリエステル樹脂の成形材料を流し込む。この不
飽和ポリエステル樹脂成形材料は不飽和ポリエス
テル樹脂100重量部に対し、炭酸カルシウムや水
酸化アルミニウムなどの無機質系微粉末を100〜
400重量部、触媒としてベンゾイルパーオキサイ
ド等過酸化物を0.2〜2.0重量部、必要に応じてそ
の他補強材等を適量配合し、さらに製造すべき人
造大理石のベースの色調の着色剤を不透明に着色
されるまでの量添加して完全に混合することによ
り得られるが、大理石特有のすじ模様などを表現
するために柄用の別の色で着色し、無機質微粉末
や触媒を適量加えた不飽和ポリエステル樹脂をさ
らに少量加え、すじ模様がこわれない程度に両者
をゆるく撹拌する。このように調整した不飽和ポ
リエステル樹脂を第2図に示すように流し込んで
硬化させることにより、人造大理石本体3の表面
が表面層2で覆われた人造大理石を得るものであ
る。第3図にその断面を示し、天然大理石の色に
着色され大理石調のしま模様を有する人造大理石
本体3は半透明の表面層2を透して外部に表われ
るものである。

透明に着色した不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を流し込
んで硬化せしめるようにしたので、人造大理石は
ベースの色に半透明に着色された表面層を透して
表われることになつて人造大理石の色模様に深み
を出すことができるものであり、しかもこのよう
に表面層は半透明に着色されているために表面層
の内面にごみやほこりが付着してもこのごみやほ
こりが外観として表われることを防止でき、外観
不良の発生を低減できるものである。
