a waveform shaping circuit that shapes the vibration signal of the piezoelectric element and outputs a count signal; a flip-flop circuit that changes from an initial state to a holding state and outputs a signal according to the count signal output from the waveform shaping circuit; and a reset circuit for returning the circuit to its initial state by giving a reset signal to the circuit, detecting the intensity of rain based on the count signal of the waveform shaping circuit, and detecting the presence or absence of rain based on the output signal of the flip-flop circuit.
