In general, a gasket for sealing the joint between two pipe bodies is made by sealing the inner circumferential surface of a receiving pipe with a headed end, as in the device disclosed in Publication of Utility Model Publication No. 56-5667. It is most often installed between the outer peripheral surface of a headless insertion tube that can be inserted into the oral canal. In other words, at the tube junction where one headless tube body can be inserted into the other headed tube body as described above, by installing a packing between the tube bodies at the insertion part, both can be inserted. Preventing fluid leakage by sealing between the tube bodies was relatively easy.

However, if both tubes are headless tubes, one tube is simply joined rather than inserted into the other, which makes sealing the joint between the two tubes surprisingly difficult. Therefore, an important issue was how to attach the gasket to this joint.

In particular, when sealing the joint between such headless tubes, there is a strong possibility that the ends of both headless tubes will come into direct contact with the seal and damage the seal. This was an important factor that made it difficult to attach the patch in the body.

In addition, as a connection structure for headless tubes that does not damage the gasket, conventional methods such as Utility Model Publication No. 14-3255
There is a structure of a pipe joint as shown in No. 2, but in a pipe joint with such a structure, a joining ring is installed in the housing between the joint and the outer circumferential surface of the pipe body, spanning both pipe bodies, and There are two separate pieces on both sides of the joint ring.
Since the housing is made up of individual gaskets, the number of parts increases as a whole, and the work of installing each member into the housing becomes complicated. In addition, in such a structure, sealing can only be ensured by arranging two gaskets, and at least one gasket cannot provide any sealing effect and cannot prevent damage to the gasket.

In any case, until now, no gasket has been developed that can seal the ends of both headless tubes with just one piece without causing damage.

The purpose of this invention is to solve these problems, and it not only improves the sealing performance at the joint between both tubes, but also makes it possible to seal both tubes at the same time with one gasket. Moreover, it is an object of the present invention to provide a completely new and useful packing for sealing a pipe joint, which can almost completely prevent damage to the packing.

The present invention was constructed to achieve such an objective, and includes a packing for mounting in a housing formed between the outer circumferential surface of the joint of two headless pipes and the inner circumferential surface of the joint. , a protector having at least a contact surface part that contacts the outer circumferential surface of the end of the double headless tube, and a reinforcing rising part that stands upright from the contact surface part, the contact surface part of the protector is inside the packing body. The gist is that it is incorporated into the packing main body so as to be exposed on the circumferential surface and is provided integrally with the packing main body.

That is, the packing having such a structure is installed in the housing so that the contact surface of the protector contacts both outer circumferential surfaces of the ends of both headless tubes, and in this state, the joint is tightened. By pressing the packing body against each wall surface of the housing, both headless tube sides are simultaneously sealed by the packing body. Moreover, in this case, the packing body does not come into direct contact with the ends of the headless tube, which are most likely to cause damage.
The contact surface is completely protected by the contact surface portion of the protector.

As mentioned above, the present invention is configured to simultaneously press and seal the packing body on both headless tube sides by tightening the joint, so sealing with the packing at the pipe joint between headless tubes, which was relatively difficult, was achieved. This has the remarkable effect that not only can the sealing performance be improved significantly, but also that both headless tube sides can be sealed at the same time by one packing. Moreover, since the double headless tube can be sealed by installing only one seal in the housing between the tube body and the joint, the number of parts in the housing can be reduced, and the work of installing members in the housing can be reduced. It has the advantage of being easier.

A further important point is that, as mentioned above, the packing body does not come into direct contact with the ends of the headless tube, which are most likely to cause damage, and the contact surface is covered by the contact surface of the protector. Since it is completely protected, the packing body will never be damaged even if the headless tube is moved or eccentric, and this has the particularly remarkable effect of almost completely preventing damage. I've reached it.

Moreover, since the protector has a rising part for reinforcement from the abutting surface, the structural strength of the protector itself is extremely strong, and the protector itself is easily damaged due to eccentricity of the headless tube. There is very little possibility that the protective body will be damaged, and furthermore, by incorporating the protective body with the rising part for reinforcement into the packing body, the structure of the protective body will become a framework and the strength of the packing body will be sufficiently increased. This guarantees a two-part guarantee and further improves its deformation prevention effect.

And the packing 6 which consists of such a structure,
As shown in Fig. 2, the outer circumferential surfaces a, b of two headless tubes A, B of the same diameter are joined at the ends 7, 8, and the outer circumferential surfaces a, b of the headless tubes A, B are placed facing each other. The contact surface portion 3 of the protector 2 and the seal body 1 are placed in a housing 11 formed between the tapered inner peripheral surfaces 10a, 10b of the two fitting fitting bodies 9a, 9b of the same shape to be fitted. The inner circumferential surfaces thereof are in contact with the outer circumferential surfaces a and b of both ends of the headless pipes A and B, and the upper surface portion 4 of the protector 2 and the outer circumferential surfaces of the packing body 1 are both the joint fitting bodies 9a, It is mounted so as to come into contact with the inner circumferential surfaces 10a, 10b of 9b.

Then, as mentioned above, attach the packing 6 to the housing 1.
1, then the screw rod 12 and nut 15
When tightened, the fitting bodies 9a, 9b are attracted to each other, and the fitting bodies 9a, 9b are pulled together.
Due to the wedge effect of the tapered inner circumferential surface, the packing body 1 is simultaneously pressed against the outer circumferential surfaces a and b of the end portions of both headless tubes A and B. Therefore, the single seal 6 seals both headless tubes A and B at the same time.

Moreover, in this case, the gasket 6 is installed in the housing 11 so that the contact surface portion 3 of the protector 2 comes into contact with the outer circumferential surfaces a, b of both end portions of the headless tubes A, B. The ends 7, 8 of the headless tubes A, B, which are likely to damage the pipes 6, are covered by the contact surface 3 of the protector 2, so that the packing body 1 does not come into direct contact with the ends 7, 8. Therefore, damage to the inner circumferential surface of the packing body 1 due to movement or eccentricity of the headless tubes A and B is almost completely prevented.

Similarly, when the packing 6 is installed in the housing 11, the upper surface 5 of the protector 2 is in contact with the inner circumferential surfaces 10a, 10b of the joint fitting bodies 9a, 9b, so that the inner circumferential surfaces 10a , 10b are covered by the upper surface 5 of this protector 2, so that the corner portions 17a, 17b do not come into direct contact with the packing body 1, and therefore the outer peripheral surface of the packing body 1 is never damaged. There is nothing to do.

Furthermore, since the protector 2 has a structure in which the contact surface part 3 and the upper surface part 5 are connected with each other by the rising part 4, and the cross section is roughly shaped, the protector 2 itself has a very strong strength.
This ensures the strength of the gasket 6 and prevents it from becoming extremely deformed.

As described above, in the above embodiment, both headless tubes A and B are connected at the junction between headless tubes A and B.
Side sealing can be performed simultaneously with one packing 6, and the packing body 1 can seal the ends 2 and 3 of both headless pipes A and B and the fitting bodies 9a and 9b.
Corner portions 17a, 1 of inner peripheral surfaces 10a, 10b of
Since the headless tubes A and B are protected from direct contact with parts that are likely to cause damage, such as 7b, they will never be damaged even if they move or are eccentric. This has resulted in a particularly remarkable effect of reliably preventing this.
