Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent dewing on the surface of a drum and to make a surface potential uniform by incorporating a heater and setting an image carrier drum to any temperature. CONSTITUTION:The image carrier drum 1 forms an electrostatic latent image, transfers a toner image onto paper and is provided with a heater 18. By controlling the energization of the heater 18, the drum 1 is always set to any temperature. A large temperature difference between in and out of the drum 1 never occurs, and therefore dewing on the surface of the drum is prevented at a low temperature. When an image forming device starts operation at a low temperature, the surface potential of the image carrier drum can be made uniform.

表面温度が装置内上昇温度に追従し切れないため、ドラ
ムの内部および外部双方の間に大きな温度差を生じさせ
る。この温度差は低温時の装置始動時に像担持体ドラム
表面に結露を生じさせ易いという欠点があり、また現在
像担持体として使用されているOPCドラムは、温度特
性により性能が高くも低くもなるので均一な表面電位を
得られないという欠点がある。
