However, if the circuit section does not have information about the width of the mechanism section, when data is sent by mistake, the head will collide with the right edge, causing the head position to be incorrect. Therefore, conventionally, this type of circuit section is equipped with a dip switch, etc., and the width of the mechanism section in which the circuit section is used is set in advance. .

The other end has a structure that prevents the horizontal movement of the print head, and the horizontal drive system of the print head provides power to the drive source when the horizontal movement of the print head is not prevented by a force above a certain level. When the power is turned on, the head moves toward the sensor, and when the sensor is detected, the drive source is activated to move the print head a certain amount toward the other end. The device is driven, and then driven again toward the sensor, and the amount of drive until reaching the sensor is counted, and the width of the mechanism is determined and stored.

It consists of a printing head pressing/release mechanism, a sliding section, etc., and prints using a well-known technique.Furthermore, a microswitch 12 is fixed to the left frame 1, and when the head section 4 reaches the left end, , a part of the head section 4 presses the feeler of the micro switch 12 and switches 1

By repeating this until the output No. 2 is turned on, the head section 4 comes to the left end. However, if the output of the switch 12 is turned on immediately when the power is turned on, the head section 4 is once moved slightly to the right, and then the above operation is performed.

This amount of drive is determined by the width of the mechanism section with which the circuit section 14 may be used. - As an example, assume that the mechanism is for an 8° digit and a 132 digit. Furthermore, if this narrower mechanical section has some margin, that is, if the print head 4 is physically able to move 85 digits, the above drive amount will be 86 digits (or more).

It is clear from the above that if the output of switch 12 is the 85th digit or below, the mechanism used at this time is for the 80th digit, and if the output is the 86th digit, it is for the 132nd digit. The head is configured so that the drive source and the head do not match when force is applied, and when the power is turned on, the head first moves to the left end, then moves a certain amount to the right, and then moves to the left again. By counting the amount of movement at that time, the width of the mechanical part can be determined, so mechanical parts with different widths can be commonly used in one type of circuit part, which is inexpensive and easy to manage. There is an effect that it can be done.
