This type of endoscope has an airtight structure that protects the endoscope from liquid intrusion, and is sterilized with chemical solutions. In other words, the entire endoscope is immersed in a chemical solution, or the endoscope is connected inside and outside the endoscope to provide gas. It is used for sterilization, that is, for putting the entire endoscope in a sterile container and disinfecting it with gas.

By the way, in the case of endoscopes subjected to this type of chemical disinfection and gas sterilization, intrusion of the chemical into the endoscope caused by poor airtightness during chemical disinfection is particularly problematic.

Therefore, in the past, a pressure injection hole was provided in the operating section of the endoscope, a waterproof inspection tool was connected to this pressure injection hole, and air was injected into the endoscope through the pressure injection hole. It is possible to detect whether the endoscope is waterproof or not, or to configure part of the endoscope with a material that is breathable but not water permeable, and performs gas sterilization and chemical disinfection separately. Endoscopes and the like have been developed that allow this to be done without requiring any manipulation.

However, in a structure in which a pressure injection hole is provided in an endoscope, the pressure injection hole is usually open, so
When disinfecting with a chemical solution, it is necessary to switch and close the pressure injection hole each time using a separate opening/closing device such as a pot. By the way, it is easy to make mistakes in closing the pressure injection hole, and there is a great possibility that the chemical liquid will enter the inside of the endoscope and damage the optical equipment and other equipment when performing chemical disinfection. Furthermore, if a part of the endoscope is made of a material that has air permeability but not water permeability, there is no means for detecting whether waterproofness is maintained or not. For example, if there is a crack in the curved rubber coating of the insertion tube, the airtightness of the crack cannot be detected, and when disinfecting with a chemical solution, the chemical solution can similarly enter through the crack and cause damage to the endoscope.

This idea was devised by focusing on the above-mentioned circumstances, and its purpose is to provide a communication port in the endoscope that communicates the inside and outside of the endoscope, and to this communication hole, a test tool for waterproof testing can be connected. In addition, by providing a porous member that is not water permeable but has breathability and is encased when the waterproof test tool is connected, gas sterilization and chemical disinfection can be performed without any special operations. , inspection to see if waterproofness is maintained, gas sterilization, and chemical disinfection can be easily performed without any mistakes.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide a waterproof endoscope that can be used safely without liquid intrusion into the endoscope.

A first embodiment of this invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. Reference numeral 1 in FIG. 1 is an operating section of a waterproof endoscope 2, and this operating section 1 is provided with an eyepiece section 2a. The operating portion 1 also has a curved portion 3 on the tip side.
An insertion section 4 with a Furthermore, a universal cord 5 is connected to the operation section 1, and a connector 6 connected to a light source device (not shown) is attached to the tip of the universal cord 5. Additionally, inside the insertion section 4, there is an observation optical system (not shown) extending from the tip of the insertion section 4 through the operation section 1 to the eyepiece section 2, and also from the tip of the insertion section 4 through the operation section 1 and the universal cord 5. An illumination optical system (not shown) leading to the connector 6 is built-in, and the front side of the distal end of the insertion section 4 can be visually observed from the eyepiece section 2a under illumination light irradiation. The endoscope 2 has a completely airtight structure.

And, the waterproof endoscope 2 configured in this way
For example, an injection port 7 is provided on the side of the connector 6. The structure around this injection port 7 is as follows:
As shown in FIG. 2, a cap 8 with a small diameter portion 8a
is attached to the side wall of the connector 6 to form a communication port 9 that communicates with the inside and outside of the endoscope 2, and a small diameter portion 8a located on the outside of the base 8.
The opening of the communication port 9 is covered with a porous member 10 having a closed-end cylindrical shape made of polytetrafluoroethylene or the like having a porosity of about 10 μm, which does not have water permeability but has air permeability. The test tool 10a for waterproof testing can be detachably connected thereto. Note that 11a is a side hole bored in the side wall of the small diameter portion 8a.

On the other hand, the waterproof inspection tool 10a is as follows:
A connecting member 13 having an O-ring 12 inside is connected to the tip of a tube 11 whose base is connected to an air supply means (not shown) such as an air pump. By covering the porous member 10 and connecting it by engagement, a pressure of, for example, about 0.3 kg/cm 2 can be applied to the inside of the endoscope 2 when the air pump is operated. There is.

And, the waterproof endoscope 2 configured in this way
When gas sterilizing the endoscope 2, the entire endoscope 2 (including the operating section 1 and the universal cord 5)
is placed in a gas sterilizer (not shown) and gas is supplied into the gas sterilizer, so that some of the gas flows inside and outside the endoscope 2 through the porous member 10 while the pressure of the gas sterilizer is reduced. Even if the pressure is positive or negative, gas sterilization is performed with the endoscope 2 side and the inside of the gas sterilizer having the same pressure.

Also, when disinfecting with a chemical solution, use the endoscope 2 as it is.
By placing the entire body in a disinfection tank (not shown) and putting the chemical solution into the disinfection tank, the chemical solution is kept in a completely sealed state where the porous member 10 prevents the chemical solution from entering the inside of the endoscope 2. Disinfection will be carried out.

In addition, when testing whether the endoscope 2 is waterproof, connect the waterproof test tool 10a to the base 8 and send air to the endoscope 2 at a rate of 0.3 kg/kg.
If an internal pressure of about cm 2 is applied and the entire endoscope 2 is immersed in water in this state, for example, if a crack has formed in the curved rubber coating 3a of the curved portion 3,
Air bubbles are generated and you can tell whether the waterproofness is maintained or not.

Therefore, gas sterilization and chemical sterilization can be performed without any special operations, and the airtight structure is made of the porous member 10 without requiring any switching operation for connecting the waterproof inspection test tool 10a. Therefore, it is possible to check whether the device is waterproof or not with an easy operation similar to a simple insertion/removal operation.

As explained above, according to this invention, an endoscope is provided with a communication port that communicates the inside and outside of the endoscope, and a test tool for waterproof testing can be connected to this communication port, and a test tool for waterproof testing can be connected to this port. Since we have provided a porous material that is not water permeable but has breathability, it is possible to perform gas sterilization and chemical disinfection of the endoscope without any special operations, and it is also suitable for waterproof inspection. Waterproofness can be tested through a series of easy insertion/removal operations without requiring the conventional switching operations for connection of devices.
