Abstract

PURPOSE: To made it possible to switch the tail of a dart consisting of a soft feather from a movably spreading state at the time of throwing the dart to a folding state at the time of hitting a game board by providing the dart with the folding means of reacting to the shock of the dart on a game board so as to be moved to a folding position when the dart collides with the game board. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to darts, and more particularly to arrows with convergent feathers that are transferred to a storage position after the arrow impacts and adheres to a game board.

Many dart games use a type of dart that has a point that pierces the game board and multiple feathers that stabilize and enhance the flight characteristics after being thrown.

The wings are usually constructed of plastic or feathers and are therefore semi-rigid. For aerodynamic reasons, the feathers usually extend radially outward and exhibit a somewhat larger cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the arrow's body. According to another aspect of the present invention, the storage means is configured such that the feathers are transferred to the storage state upon impact of the game board in response to the impact of the arrow on the game board.

According to another aspect of the invention, the arrow body defines a cavity in which an activation mechanism for the storage means is provided.

The invention thus provides a dart with wings that gives the arrow the necessary flight characteristics and that upon impact with the game board transitions into a stowed state so as to reduce its cross-section and does not interfere with subsequent arrows. Provide arrows.

To move the finger 28 from the actuated interlaminar state to its convergent stowed state, the arrow 10 is provided with storage means 32 which substantially surrounds the finger 28 and has a sleeve 34 substantially adjacent the base 30 of the wing. First position and sleeve 34
are mounted to slide between a first position and a second position in which the fingers 28 are moved axially outwardly to converge the fingers 28 into a retracted condition.

Sleeve 34 is actuated by plunger means 36 slidably disposed within hexagonal cavity 22. The plunger means 36 has a cartridge portion 38 having a forward end 40 to which the tip 14 is connected and a rearward end 42 of a reduced cross-section portion.

A pair of connectors 44 in the form of wires are connected to the extensions 46 of the rear end 42 and extend rearwardly and outwardly through a pair of slots 48 in the body 12. The rear end of each wire 44 is provided with a hook 50 that engages a hole in the front portion of the sleeve 34. Gooseneck 5 for wire 48
