本考案は立型工作機械用の切粉付着防止カバー
装置に関するものであり、更に詳しくは、例えば
立型マシニングセンタあるいは立型フライス盤の
ように主軸ヘツドを支持するコラムを直立せしめ
た工作機械のコラムの下端部のベツド上に切粉が
付着したり詰まつたりするのを防止するためのカ

切粉詰まりや破損等の障害を惹起する場合が稀で
はなく、更に該カバーを構成する部品の点数が多
いため組立および調整作業に多大の労力を要し切
粉付着防止カバーの生産コストに増加を来す等の
不都合をも内在せしめている。また、コラムの上
端部とサドルとの間にシート状の防塵カバーを巻
取装置を用いて張設した装置も存在するが、構造
が複雑になると共に、運転中惓取装置が破損し易
く、保守に手数を要する。

としたことを特徴とする立型工作機械用の切粉付
着防止カバー装置を要旨とするものである。

形鋼製のレールとして例示されているが、後述す
る上部可動部材5にスライドもしくは回転下の上
下方向移動、即ちコラム2の高さ方向に沿う移動
を許容し得るものであればI形鋼以外の任意の材
料および構造を採用することができる。例えば、
特に切粉の詰まりが発生し易いコラム2の前面下
端部を部分的に被覆する第2のカバーを前記ガイ
ドレール4の補助的な構成部材として付加しても
よい。カバー装置3は、前記ガイドレール4に対

た状態でコラム2の高さ方向に沿つて上下動する
ローラ機構8、該ローラ機構を板状部材7にネジ
止めするためのブラケツト9、ならびにコラム2
の高さ方向に沿うローラ機構8の上下動に際し板
状部材7の上端部とコラム2との間に形成される
隙間をシールするための弾性変形可能なゴム板1
0から構成されており、また下部可動部材6は、
板状部材7の下端部と前記サドル1とを傾斜角可
変に接合するヒンジ12から構成されている。ま
た、切粉の飛散を防止する折り返し緑7′を高さ
方向の全長に亘つて設けた板状部材7は、その上
縁部をネジ止め、熔接等の公知の固着手段によつ
て上部可動部材5に固着され、ヒンジ接合された
下部可動部材6と共働してコラム2の下端部や表
面を被覆する単体構造のカバーを形成している。

下部可動部材6の水平方向移動はワークの加工条
件に応じて自由に連動させることができるから、
コラム2の下端部は、板状部材7によつてその略
全域が被覆される。従つてコラム2の下端部や工
作機械の可動部、例えばベツド11のコラム寄り
のサドルの摺動面には、切粉の詰まりや堆積等が

ができる。更に本考案装置は、在来の切粉付着防
止用カバー装置に比較して部品数を大幅に減少せ
しめているから、組付け作業や調整作業が容易で
あり、生産性の向上に寄与するところ極めて大な
るものがある。またカバー本体が平滑な継目なし
鋼板等によつて形成されているから、切粉排出装
置への切粉の滑り落ちを容易化する上にも顕著な
効果が認められる。
