【考案の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本考案は、各種機器の回転軸を軸封し、スパイ
ラル溝を有するリツプシールの改良に関する。

従来より、リツプ部材の内径摺動面にスパイラ
ル状の溝を刻設し、該溝のねじポンプ作用により
密封性能の向上を図るよう構成されたリツプシー
ルが広く知られている。

半裁断面図で、機器のハウジング1の軸孔2に形

嵌着され、スナツプリング5により固定された環
状の金属製外ケース6と、該外ケース6に嵌着さ
れたゴム材製パツキン7および外ケース6の内側
面にカシメ固定された断面略L字形状の環状の金
属製内ケース8により外径部が気密的に挾着さ
れ、四フツ化エチレン樹脂を主材料とするデイス
ク状のリツプ部材15とよりなり、該リツプ部材
15の内径部が、前記軸孔2に回転自在に遊挿さ
れた回転軸9の外周面に、密封流体側空間Aへ突
出するごとく軸方向に屈曲変形した状態で適宜面
圧をもつて摺接することにより、密封流体の大気
側空間Bへの漏出を阻止するもので、前記リツプ
部材15の内径摺動面16には所要数のスパイラ
ル溝17…が刻設されており、該スパイラル溝1
7…のねじポンプ作用により、摺動面16と回転
軸9の外周面の間に浸入せんとする流体を密封流
体側空間Aへ吐出するため、すぐれた密封性能を
有している。

を要しており、すなわちリツプ部材15は柔軟
性、弾力性に乏しい四フツ化エチレン樹脂材を主
成分としているためスパイラル溝17…の成形が
たいへん困難であり、したがつて、このような構
成のリツプ部材の製作は、第4図に示すように、
まず中空部bを有する円柱状のリツプ素材aを形
成し第4図イ、該リツプ素材aの端面cの内径部
にフライス(図示せず)等により所要数のスパイ
ラル溝17…を刻設第4図ロした後、所定の厚さ
で切断第4図ハするという手順で行なつており、
工数が多く、加工コストや量産性において問題を
有していた。

供するもので、リツプシールのリツプ部材が互い
に重着された2枚のデイスク状シートよりなり、
該両デイスク状シートのうち、回転軸外周面と摺
接する側のデイスク状シートの内径部に、その厚
さ方向に打ち抜かれた所要数のスパイラル状の打
ち抜き溝を有し、この打ち抜き溝は、両デイスク
状シートの重着により内径摺動面のスパイラル溝
をなすものである。

め、製作が非常に簡単である。

なつており、このうち、内径部において回転軸9
の外周面と摺接する側(外径部において大気側空
間Bと接する側)のデイスク状シート12の内径
部には、第2図に示すような厚さ方向に打抜かれ
た所要数のスパイラル状の打ち抜き溝13…が形
成されており、該スパイラル状打ち抜き溝13…
は、他方のデイスク状シート11との重着状態に
おいてスパイラル溝14…(第1図図示)をな
す。なお、該スパイラル溝14…(スパイラル状
打ち抜き溝13…)は、流体を密封流体側空間A
へ吐出する方向に傾斜しているものであることは
もちろんである。

工コストの低減および量産性の向上に貢献するも
のである。
