Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an ignition coil which can be simply and effectively mounted and easily positioned by providing a receptacle made of a through hole parallel to the axial direction of a winding on the outer periphery of a core or a sheath material, inserting fixing means of a magnetic unit, and securing it to a member to be mounted. CONSTITUTION:A coil body 1 is provided with a receptacle 10 made of a through hole provided in a direction parallel to the axial center direction of a coil winding 2 on the outer periphery of a core 3. The receptacle 10 is secured to a member to be mounted by fixing means 11 for inserting it. Accordingly, the fixing is effective, positioning is easy, and a special jig is not required. Thus, the mounting and fixing are simple. Magnetic characteristic is not reduced by employing a high permeability material as the means 11. Thus, an ignition coil device which can be simply and effectively mounted and easily positioned can be obtained.
