Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a humidifier which has an increased gasifying amount and high humidifying capacity by a method wherein a protrusion part is formed at least on the one surface of a humidifying element. CONSTITUTION:A protrusion part 1c in the shape of chevron having an apex angle alpha is formed on a side 1a of a humidifying element 1. A plurality of the humidify elements 1 are arranged in a manner to hold a distance therebetween, and one end 1d is immersed in a feed tank 2 a feed to which is controlled by a solenoid valve. When dried air fed during humidifying operation and entering from a direction (a) passes a gap between the humidifying elements 1, since the protrusion part 1c is formed on the side 1a, the direction of air in the vicinity of the side is disturbed to produce a turbulent flow and sufficiently mixed with air entering the vicinity of the center of the gap. As a result, since the efficiency of contact between air entering the vicinity of the center of the gap and the side 1a is increased, a gasifying amount is increased. Further, since the surface area of the shape of the protrusion part 1c is increased to a value higher than that of a flat shape, a contact area is increased and humidifying capacity is improved.

Reference numeral 1 denotes a humidifying element made of a hydrophilic porous body made of a water-absorbing material 9 such as a polyolefin resin, and having a flat side surface 1a, and a plurality of humidifying elements are arranged at intervals. 2 is a water tank, and water is supplied by a magnetic shield valve or the like. Also, A indicates the direction in which dry air enters before humidification, and the mouth indicates the direction in which humidified air exits.

One end 1b of the humidifying element 1 is immersed in the water supplied to the water tank 2. Since the humidifying element 1 is made of a hydrophilic porous material, the air that has been absorbed into the pores and completely dried by capillary action is blown from the direction A and passes through the side surface 1a of the humidifying element 1. When it comes into contact with the absorbed water, it evaporates, becoming humidified and exiting from the mouth.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the above configuration, since the side surfaces of the humidifying element are flat, the air flow is not disturbed much during ventilation, so the air flow is not disturbed particularly in the central part of the gap between the elements. The air that enters does not come into contact with the element surface,
As a result, the air sometimes leaves the air without being humidified. Furthermore, since it is planar, the surface area that comes into contact with the air is relatively small, and the amount of vaporization is generally small, resulting in a low humidifying ability.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the humidifier of the present invention has a plurality of humidifying elements made of a water-absorbing material installed in an air passage, one end of which is immersed in a water tank to absorb water. In the evaporative humidifier, a 77I humidifying element is configured to have a raised portion formed on at least one surface thereof.

Effects According to the present invention, with the above-described configuration, the flow of air entering the humidifying element becomes turbulent, the contact efficiency with the humidifying element becomes high, and the surface area of the humidifying element also increases, so that the amount of vaporization increases in general. This makes it possible to realize a humidifier with high humidification capacity.

In the humidifier configured as described above, when air is blown during humidification operation, the dry air entering from the direction A forms a protrusion 1C on the side surface 1a when passing through the gap in the humidifying element 1. The direction of the nearby air is disturbed, creating a turbulent flow that mixes well with the air entering near the center of the gap. As a result, the contact efficiency between the air entering the center of the gap and the side surface 1a becomes high, so that the amount of vaporization increases.

Furthermore, the raised portion 1C has a larger surface area than the flat plate shape, so the contact area is larger and the humidification ability is generally higher.

Effects of the Invention As described above, the present invention provides an evaporative humidifier in which a plurality of humidifying elements made of a water-absorbing material are installed in an air passage, and one end of the humidifying element is immersed in a water supply area to absorb and vaporize water. By forming a raised portion on at least one surface of the humidifying element, the flow of air entering the humidifying element becomes a turbulent flow, increasing the efficiency of contact with the humidifying element, and reducing the surface area of the humidifying element. As a result, the amount of vaporization increases in general, and the humidification ability increases.
