Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for washing after the end of a measurement along a less thickness of an oil film by providing a recess having a light transmitting/receiving means facing an upper part of a case body to mount a disposable transparent container with an oil film formed therein. CONSTITUTION:An operator mounts an oil suction means 6 on a transparent container 2 to feed a sample oil into an opening 2a and the oil is sucked into an area 5 intended to form an oil film. Then, the means 6 is removed and the container 2 is mounted into a recess 1a of a case body 1. By the depressing of a switch 7, an LED 3 emits light, which is received with a PD 4 passing through the sample oil to allows measurement of a light transmission value electrically. After the end of the measurement, the container 2 is removed from the body 1 to be disposed of. This facilitates the measurement of the sample oil mixed with carbon, for example, a diesel engine oil while eliminating the need for washing after the measurement.

On the other hand, in the case of the invention described in JP-A No. 61-76938, which is the conventional example, the cell width is set small because it is difficult for light to pass through oil that is heavily blackened due to carbon contamination, such as diesel engine oil. Although it is necessary,
In such a case, there is a problem in that it is difficult to fill the cells with oil.

An object of the present invention is to improve the disadvantages of the conventional example, and in particular, even when the width of the oil storage area is set small, it is possible to easily fill the oil storage area with oil. Another object of the present invention is to provide an oil deterioration detection device that can easily measure sample oil mixed with carbon, such as diesel engine oil, and that also makes cleaning work unnecessary after the measurement is completed.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the thickness of the sample oil film formed in the oil film formation region can be reduced by forming the oil film formation region thinner, and the dropper-like shape can be reduced. Oil can be easily introduced into the oil film formation area by the action of the oil suction means, and this makes it possible to easily measure sample oils mixed with carbon such as diesel engine oil. It is possible to provide an unprecedented and excellent oil deterioration detection device that is disposable and does not require cleaning after completion of measurement.
