Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the sealability by making both side walls of an elastic semicircle packing upper edge higher than a flange face of a cylinder head general part, by forming a gasket fitting groove for a cylinder head cover, and by forming a seal lip, which projects inside, at a groove opening edge. CONSTITUTION:A packing 1 is formed from an elastic body such as a rubber, and a packing 1 upper edge with which gasket 11 of a cylinder head cover 10 is brought into pressure contact extends upwards from its opposed side walls 6, and has a gasket fitting groove 7 formed at its center part. The gasket 11 is brought into pressure contact with a bottom face 7a of the gasket fitting groove 7 in a continuous manner to a flange face 8 of a cylinder head 2 general part, and is fitted tightly inside the gasket fitting groove 7. A seal lip 9 of the gasket fitting groove 7 opening groove edge is strongly brought into pressure contact with both side faces of a gasket 11. っている。尚、上記半円筒面1aには、切欠部3内周面
との間のシール性を高めるために、一対の突条をなすシ
ール突起5が形成されている(第2図参照)。

よりも所定量だけ突出するように延長形成されているの
である。尚、ガスケット嵌合溝との圧接力を高めるため
に、上記ガスケット嵌合溝7底面7aの中央部が僅かに
膨らんで形成されている。
