In sheet metal painting for automobile bodies, etc., not only color and gloss, but also smoothness, three-dimensional elegance, tactility, etc. are highly required, so the poly putty coating and polishing work as a pre-painting process are particularly important. This is important work. Particularly in automobile repair shops, no matter how carefully the sheet metal repair work is performed, if the polishing work after applying poly putty is not done properly, the original smoothness, tactility, and three-dimensional elegance may be lost even after painting. cannot be obtained. This polishing finish after applying poly putty has traditionally been done by roughly covering the entire sheet metal repair surface with poly putty, leveling it with a wooden spatula, etc., drying it, and then applying the putty to the surface (hereinafter referred to as the "putty surface"). However, it takes a lot of time and effort to do it completely by hand using paper, so various hand tools such as air and electric sanders are now being used. However, most of the sheet metal surfaces of automobile bodies and the like are curved surfaces, and there are almost no truly flat surfaces. Therefore, even if you use the above-mentioned hand tools that utilize reciprocating motion, rotational motion, vibration, etc., the depth of grinding may vary depending on how the worker holds the sander and how much force is applied. After applying the topcoat, the painted surface becomes wavy or distorted, so this polishing work is a tedious task that relies heavily on the operator's intuition and years of experience. A typical prior art is Utility Model Opening in 1978
Shown in 15489. In this prior art, a disc-shaped marble is configured to be rotated by a motor installed directly above the disc-shaped marble. A protruding square bar is attached. The lower end of this square rod can come into contact with the surface to be polished. The outer peripheral surface of the marble is formed to be sufficiently smaller than the virtual square.

In such prior art, for example, when polishing the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical curved surface, the lower end of a diagonal square bar is aligned with a ridge line (i.e., a generatrix) parallel to the axis of the cylindrical outer circumferential surface. The polishing jig must be run in this condition, otherwise a smooth polished surface cannot be obtained. Therefore, in such prior art, it is not possible to manually move the polishing jig, and a separate traveling device must be provided to move the polishing jig.

Moreover, another problem with this prior art is that, for example, when polishing a cylindrical surface to be polished, if the curvature of the polishing surface is different, the position of the lower end of the pair of square bars on the remaining diagonal lines must be adjusted. It has to be fixed. Such adjustment work requires skill.

Therefore, in order to perform polishing by attaching the poly putty polishing jig according to the present invention to a sander, the fixing boss 8 of the sander is fitted into the hole of the split-shaped boss portion 3, and the jig is attached to the sander 11. , the pad 9 is reattached, and paper 10 of the desired grain size is adhered to the surface of the pad. In order to obtain the required grinding depth, the parallelism of the plane formed by the surface of the paper 10 and the gauge lines 7 of both slide gauge plates 2 and the relative height of both are adjusted by adjusting the vertical adjustment screw 5 and the fixing screw of the slide gauge plate 2. Adjust with 6. Thereafter, the gauge wire 7 of the jig is applied to the putty surface, and the sander 11 is polished with the hand holding the sander 11 while reciprocating or rotating it as in the conventional method.

As described above, according to the poly putty polishing jig according to the present invention, the polishing can be performed simply by bringing the gauge wire 7 into contact with the putty surface, without having to adjust the force with which the paper 10 is pressed against the putty surface by intuition as in the past. The depth is constant, and the distance between both gauge lines 7 is larger than the longest distance within the rotational movement range of the paper 10, so that the polished surface can be finished into a smooth curved surface without any waves. At the same time, even if one side of the gauge wire 7 rises, the paper 10 on the other side is prevented from digging into the putty surface more than necessary. . Further, the rotary pad 9, that is, the paper 10
The structure is such that the outer periphery of the slide gauge plate 2 of the jig frame 1 can reach the outer edge line of the side plate on the non-installed side, regardless of the presence or absence of obstructions such as protrusions that hit the jig frame 1 on the putty surface. The entire putty surface can be polished without leaving any residue. For example, when using a paper jig that rotates within the circle of the ring-shaped gauge part 12 shown in FIG. 4 for comparison with the present invention, the gauge part 12 hits the door handle 13 of the body and However, with the poly putty polishing jig according to the present invention, the putty surface can be polished without leaving any residue even when the jig is attached. In other words, the poly putty polishing jig according to the present invention uses a slide gauge plate that can be attached to various types of sanders and can be freely adjusted, so that even amateurs can easily polish the putty surface to a uniform and smooth surface without having to acquire skills. The surface can be polished.

In particular, in the present invention, the gauge line 7 is on a virtual plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rotating pad 9, and the gauge line 7 is located on a virtual plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the rotating pad 9,
are parallel to each other. Therefore, when the surface to be polished is, for example, a cylindrical outer peripheral surface, as long as the gauge wire 7 is in contact with the surface to be polished, the line connecting the points of contact between the surface to be polished and the two gauge lines 7 is The axis of the rotary pad 9 is located at this point, so that the surface to be polished can be polished with high quality, and manual polishing becomes possible.

Furthermore, in the present invention, the long side hanging walls 1c, 1
The recesses 1c2 and 1d2 of d are formed so as not to contact the rotary pad 9, and the outer peripheral surfaces 1c1 and 1d1 of the long side hanging walls 1c and 1d coincide with the outermost periphery of the rotary pad 9 ( (See Figure 5). In this way, as described in connection with FIG. 5 above, it becomes possible to polish even the door handle 13 and the like. Such an effect is an excellent effect of the present invention that could not be achieved in the aforementioned Utility Model Application No. 48-15489.

In addition, in the present invention, the upper end of the gauge plate 2 can be vertically adjusted by a vertical adjustment screw 5 inserted through the jig frame 1, and the fixing screw 6 is connected to the hanging wall 1a on the short side, The short side hanging walls 1a, 1b and the gauge plate 2 can be adjusted by means of fixing screws 6 which are inserted through the gauge plate 1b and loosely through the part of the gauge plate 2 facing the hanging walls 1a, 1b. The mounting position of the gauge plate 2 can therefore be adjusted. Therefore, polishing accuracy can be improved.

Furthermore, two vertical adjustment screws 5 and two fixing screws 6 are provided at intervals in the longitudinal direction (vertical direction in FIG. 2) of the hanging wall 1a on one short side. Dynamic adjustment screw 5 and fixed screw 6
are provided at mutually shifted positions in the longitudinal direction, and the same is true for the other hanging wall 1b. Therefore, it is possible to easily adjust the vertical movement adjusting screw 5 and the fixing screw 6 using a screwdriver, etc., and also to adjust each hanging wall 1.
Since two vertical adjustment screws 5 and two fixing screws 6 are provided on a and 1b, it is possible to accurately adjust the gauge plate 2 with good workability, and the gauge plate 2 can be adjusted with ease. This makes it possible to prevent shifting from the desired position during work.
