Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute a pressure measurement in addition to a temperature measurement in a body cavity and, simultaneously, to smoothly discharge a secrete by providing an auxiliary tube and a lead wire for measuring the temperature made into an air inflow passage in a tube wall to surround a main tube made into a discharge passage of a body fluid, etc. CONSTITUTION:A monitor catheter 1 is composed of a main tube 2 made into the drain passage of the body fluid, etc., an auxiliary tube 3 made into the inflow passage of the air in the tube wall to surround it, and a lead wire 4 for measuring a temperature embedded in the tube wall. The main tube 2 has plural openings 5 on the tube wall in the vicinity of a catheter tip, and the rear edge has a connector part 6. For the auxiliary tube 3, the tip has an opening 7 in the main tube 2, and a filter 9 is additionally provided to the rear edge of a branched tube 8. Thus, since the main tube 2 internal part is conducted to an atmosphere, the air not to be contaminated with bacteria flows from the auxiliary tube 3 at the time of the drainage. By the above-mentioned constitution, the easy discharge of the secrete in the middle of a stay can be executed, and the temperature measurement with a long-term stay can be executed. Further, by the second auxiliary tube, even the pressure measurement is executed.

Catheters for measuring temperatures in the esophagus, rectum, etc. have been used for a long time. There is no problem in simply measuring temperature, but if it is left in a body cavity, secretions will accumulate and will need to be drained. In addition, if other diagnostic items such as pressure measurement are required, separate dedicated drain tubes, pressure measurement tubes, etc. must be inserted and placed, making handling complicated and complicated, and requiring multiple tubes. It is necessary to insert the tube into the body cavity, which increases the pain caused to the patient.

All of these devices are placed in the esophagus and have the function of measuring internal body temperature and monitoring heart sounds, lung sounds, electrocardiograms, etc.; It did not have any functions such as a monitor. On the other hand, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 60-99226, it is possible to measure internal body temperature and simultaneously drain body fluids and inject medicine, but it is not possible to measure pressure, and the drainage does not have an auxiliary tube for a sump. There was a problem with smooth drainage. Therefore, when measuring each single item, conventional catheters can be used, but when placed in body cavities such as the esophagus, secretions tend to accumulate and must be drained.

FIG. 1 is an example of an embodiment, which has a drainage function with a sump and a temperature measurement function. The main tube (
2), a first auxiliary pipe (3) provided in the pipe wall surrounding the main pipe (2) and serving as an air inflow passage, and a lead wire (4) for temperature measurement buried in the pipe wall. The main tube (2) has multiple openings (2) in the tube wall near the tip of the catheter.
5), and the distal end may be sealed and closed with a wall as shown in the figure, or it may be open if necessary, and the rear end is a connector section for connecting to the tube. It is convenient to have (6). First auxiliary pipe (3)
The tip has an opening (7) in the main tube (2) and branches near the rear end of the catheter, and a filter (9) is attached to the rear end of the branch tube (8).
2) Since the inside is communicated with the atmosphere through the first auxiliary pipe (3) and filter (9), it is not contaminated with bacteria etc. from the first auxiliary pipe (3) during natural drainage and suction drainage. Air flows in and relieves the negative pressure in the main tube (2) of the catheter (1) in the body cavity into which the catheter (1) is inserted, thereby preventing reduction in drainage efficiency due to adsorption and fear of adsorption damage to mucous membranes. Allows for smooth drainage. Note that the filter (9) may not necessarily be attached depending on the catheter insertion location where there is no risk of contamination.

Further, the tip of the lead wire (4) is located near the tip of the catheter (1), and a temperature sensor (10) is attached thereto so that the temperature of a specific location within the body cavity can be measured. The connector (1) is attached to the rear end branch tube (11) of the catheter (1).

Currently, a thermocouple or a thermistor is preferable due to cost, workability, etc. The lead wire (4) can be buried by inserting it into a pre-prepared hole in the tube wall of the catheter (1), or by embedding it during catheter tube molding. Either method may be used even if the lead wires are covered and buried at the same time.

Furthermore, if the catheter body (1) is integrally constructed with a tube made of soft plastic or rubber, it is easier to handle and the assembly is open, and there is an X-ray contrast line along the entire length of the tube to facilitate X-ray fluoroscopy. By using the medical monitor catheter according to the present invention, secretions can be easily drained during indwelling, and drug solution injection and washing can be performed if necessary, making it comfortable and maintaining temperature control even when indwelled for a relatively long period of time. This allows for smooth measurement of diagnostic management not only during surgery but also after surgery and treatment. Furthermore, since it has a function that can also measure pressure, it is possible to obtain even more information about the body cavity, making it convenient for postoperative observation, diagnosis, and management.
Since it is built into the book, it causes less pain to the patient and is convenient to handle. Therefore, for example, by having a drainage mechanism, temperature control during cardiac surgery and temperature control during post-operative indwelling can help keep the patient's condition even more stable. observation of,
It can greatly contribute to management and diagnosis.
