Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact cathode-ray tube by providing a step on a cathode-ray tube surface with which a mask opening portion engages, making the cathode-ray tube surface flush with the mask surface and providing a means of preventing slippage between them. CONSTITUTION:A step is provided on the periphery of a cathode-ray tube 3 in such a manner that it engages with the opening portion of a mask surface 2 of a cabinet 1. Additionally, the surface of the cathode-ray tube 3 is made flush with the surface of the mask portion and an elevation is provided on the mask portion. As a result, slippage of the cathode-ray tube 3 is prevented, and a more compact cathode-ray tube is obtained.
