Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the brightness automatically by providing a brightness sensor which detects ambient brightness and a control circuit which controls a cathode-ray tube to the best display brightness according to the detected ambient brightness. CONSTITUTION:The brightness sensor 5 detects the ambient brightness while a picture is displayed on the cathode-ray tube 4. A control circuit 6 controls the cathode-ray tube 4 to the best display brightness according to the detected brightness and a brightness adjusting circuit 7 adjust the level of the brightness automatically. Thus, the output of the brightness sensor 5 which detects the ambient brightness can be adjusted by the control circuit 6 to the best brightness automatically, so adjusting operation by a user is not necessary.
