The recent progress in miniaturization of electronic components has increased the number of circuits mounted on printed wiring boards, and as a result, when connecting to other circuits using connectors, printed wiring as shown in the perspective view of Fig. The number of conductor parts, so-called "tabs" 1a, provided at the end of the board 1 to be inserted into the connector 2 has become extremely large, and recently, for example, more than 100 conductor parts are required per printed wiring board. On the other hand, in this case, due to restrictions on the installation area of the "tab" 1a of the printed wiring board 1, it is required to make the width of the "tab" 1a small and at the same time to make the installation interval as small as possible. As a result, the female contact 5 itself for connection with the male contact 4 of the mating connector 3 in the connector 2 is also made smaller, and the fixed interval in the insulating housing 6 is also reduced by the "tab" 1a.
It is extremely small, corresponding to the installation interval of, for example, 1 mm or less. Therefore, "tabs" can be made relatively easily using printing methods such as pattern masks.
When manufacturing a connector 2, which is made by inserting and fixing a female contact 5 into an insulating housing 6, as shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG. At the same time, the accuracy of the size and shape of the contact insertion hole 6a, the size and shape of the contact portion 7 of the female contact 5, and furthermore the accuracy of the size and shape of the tab 1.
In order to easily and accurately solder to tab 1a,
High precision is required for the size and shape of the connecting piece 8, which is bent and made so as to be pressed into contact with the connecting piece 8.

However, as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 3a, female contacts of connectors for printed wiring boards that have been widely used in the past, ie, two parallel contact forming pieces 9a connected by support pieces 9c and 9d, A square-shaped contact forming piece 9 consisting of 9b and a contact forming piece 9
A punch is made so that it has a connecting piece 8 in the same direction as the contact forming pieces 9a and 9b in the center between the contact forming pieces 9a and 9b. U so as to form a curved contact portion 7
In the case where the connection piece 8 is bent into the shape of a letter and the connection piece 8 is bent into the required shape to form the connection part 8a with the tab 1a, even if the bending process is as careful as possible, the specified Deformation from the shape cannot be avoided. For example, it is difficult to prevent the left and right contact parts from collapsing as shown by dotted lines in the front view shown in Figure 4a, or twisting as shown by dotted lines in the plan view shown in Figure 4b. . As a result, the contacts may not fit into the insertion hole 6a (see FIG. 2) of the insulating housing 6, or there may be differences in the spacing between the contacts, resulting in differences in the corresponding positions with the contacts of the mating connector. Plug-in connections are difficult and contacts are easily damaged. Furthermore, the connection piece 8 may be twisted due to the spread of the torsion of the contact portion 7, and may be located at an angle on the tab 1a of the printed wiring board 1 as shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG. As shown in the figure, by creating differences in the spacing between the connecting pieces 8, the tabs 1a
This results in difficulties such as the inability to avoid deviation from the original position. Generally, the tab 1a and the connecting piece 8 are made to have the same width, but at the same time, the width becomes significantly narrower as the number of terminals increases.
Since the spacing between a and the connecting piece 8 is also significantly narrowed, it is difficult to avoid problems such as difficulty in soldering and the tendency for solder to adhere across the adjacent tabs 1a.

FIGS. 6a and 6b are an exploded perspective view and a perspective view after bending of a contact showing an embodiment of the present invention. The features of the present invention are as follows. That is, in the first method, as shown in Fig. 6a, a contact forming piece 9 is provided parallel to two contact forming pieces 9a and 9b connected in parallel by supporting pieces 9c and 9d, and at the center between them. It has a Japanese character shape made up of one shape regulating piece 9e. Then, as shown in FIG. 6b, the contact portion forming pieces 9a and 9b are symmetrically curved inward by the same amount with the shape regulating piece 9e as the center, and at the same time, due to this curvature, the contact portion forming pieces The point is that the contact 7 is formed by bending the shape regulating piece 9e into a U-shape so that the shape regulating piece 9e is curved upward as the lengths 9a and 9b become shorter. Note that 8 is a connecting piece provided on one support piece 9d coaxially with the shape regulating piece 9e, and 10 is a connecting piece between the contacts.

With the above configuration, the front and rear support pieces 9c, 9
By reinforcing and connecting the bottom portions of each of d with the shape regulating piece 9e, the supporting pieces 9c and 9d are placed on the same line and bent.
In addition to preventing the left and right contact portions 7 from collapsing or twisting in the length direction as in the conventional contacts described above with reference to FIGS. 4a and 4b, as described above with reference to FIGS. Connecting piece 8 tab 1
This feature is characterized in that it is possible to prevent irregularities in inclination and spacing on a.

Second, as shown in FIG. 6, the tab 1a is attached to the press-contact connection portion 8a of the connection piece 8 formed by bending the contact 7 at the same time as the tab 1a.
The point is that a portion 8b is provided which is smaller than the width of . With this configuration, as shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG.
It is characterized in that the solder 11 is placed on the left and right sides of the tabs 1a of the printed wiring board 1 and the surface of the connecting piece 8, and at the same time, the solder is prevented from riding on the adjacent tabs 1a. The first characteristic configuration eliminates the drawbacks of conventional contacts. The connecting piece 10 is cut and removed at the position indicated by the dotted line in FIG. 6 after each connecting piece 8 is soldered onto the tab 1a.

The present invention has been described above, and in order to facilitate assembly, each contact connected by the connecting piece 10 is inserted and fixed into the insulating housing as described above, but in this case, before bending the contact, is the connecting piece 8 as shown in Figure 6a.
Since the contact portion forming pieces 9a and 9b are located between them, the interval between the connecting pieces 8 cannot be further narrowed, and the number of pins of the connector cannot be increased. Therefore, as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 8, for example, a method is used in which a plurality of contact chains, for example three, are inserted and fixed into an insulating housing. In this case, it is strongly required that each contact series have the same dimensions, and precision in bending is required, but the present invention satisfies these requirements, making it possible to realize a connector with a significantly large number of pins.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, each contact can be precisely bent into the same shape, thereby preventing uneven spacing between the contacts or twisting of the connecting piece due to twisting of each contact. Since it is possible to reliably prevent this, it is possible to realize a super multi-pole connector in which the spacing between adjacent contacts is extremely narrow, and it is also possible to provide a multi-pole connector that eliminates the difficulty of soldering a connecting piece to a tab on a printed wiring board. And its practical effects are great.
