す鉛シール型蓄電池は高電圧を得易い蓄電池であるが、
本実施例においては出力3oow、電圧24Vを取り出
すため12ケのセルを直列接続して一体化しである。そ
のためセルの配列方向の寸法Tは約1801nと最長に
なっている。又300Wの出力を約16分間連続して得
られる電池容量とするため、各セルの長さEは1155
m、幅には46層としである。この時、蓋体47内部は
電池容量に寄与せず、極板の表面積で決定されるので、
同じ面積であれば正方形より矩形の方が容積効率が良い
ものである。本実施例では最長方向(セル配列方向)を
本体の左右方向にとり、かつ薄型化してセルの短手方向
を本体前後方向として配設したので、大容量の蓄電池を
使用するにもかかわらず、本体の全長を幅寸法に比べて
短かく構成でき、効率の良い配設が可能になるものであ
る。さらに7アンモータ39と蓄電池4oを本体左右方
向の中央で左右対称に配設したので、後輪36にかかる
荷重は均等になり、回転時の抵抗も等しくなるので、左
右両方向への回転において負荷の違いが生ぜず、スムー
ズに操作ができるものである。
