ステータ羽根車と、ポンプ羽根車の回転により、
ポンプ羽根車からタービン羽根車、さらにステー
タ羽根車を経て再びポンプ羽根車へと循環する作
動油と、を備えたトルクコンバータにおいて、前
記ステータ羽根車をタービン羽根車に対向する第
1ステータ羽根車とポンプ羽根車に対向する第2
ステータ羽根車から構成し、作動油から受ける圧
力によつて、第1ステータ羽根車を所定範囲内、
軸まわりに回転スライドさせるようにし、さらに
、回転スライドする側の羽根車が、所定範囲の一
方側にあるとき、作動油の流れを変え、また、所
定範囲の他方側にあるとき、作動油の流れを変え
ないように第1ステータ羽根車と第2ステータ羽
根車との組み合わせを可変にしたことを特徴とす
