The present invention relates to marking compositions suitable for use in marking the surfaces of objects at high temperatures. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Conventionally, it has been widely practiced to mark the surface of a high-temperature object, such as a freshly manufactured steel material that has not yet cooled down, with letters or symbols. When a paint containing a liquid such as water is applied to the surface of a hot object, the liquid evaporates instantaneously and the paint itself splatters, making it difficult to leave a mark with strong adhesion. As the marking materials used for this purpose, a chiyoke-like material, a powder marking agent, or a water-dispersible marking agent has been used. However, marking using Chiyoke's equipment is inefficient,
The work is also dangerous. Since the powder marking agent is sprayed through a screen containing the pattern to be marked or electrostatically applied, changing the print pattern is labor intensive. In addition, the workplace is extremely contaminated by scattered powder, which requires dust-proofing measures. On the other hand, water-dispersed marking agents tend to cause agglomeration and precipitation of the dispersed pigments, resulting in a lack of stability. This type of marking agent generally forms a strong glass film, which is brittle and cracks and peels off when cooled rapidly due to differences in the coefficient of expansion of the object being marked. Furthermore, products using water glass have disadvantages in that they require careful handling because the liquid is strongly alkaline. The present inventors have discovered a marking composition that does not have the above-mentioned drawbacks and is suitable for marking surfaces of high-temperature objects, particularly steel surfaces. That is, the present invention provides a composition for marking the surface of a hot object, which comprises about 10 to 20 parts by weight of boric acid, about 20 to 40 parts by weight of diammonium phosphate, and water. The marking composition of the present invention is preferably a colorless and transparent liquid containing no powder, consisting of approximately equivalent amounts of boric acid and diammonium phosphate salt, and water. is low. Therefore, the present composition is suitable for use in a marking method by spraying with a nozzle. The composition according to the present invention has a neutral pH of 6 to 7, so there is no danger in handling. When the composition of the present invention is applied to the surface of a high-temperature object, water-insoluble boron phosphate is instantly formed from boric acid and diammonium phosphate, resulting in a white mark. Boron phosphate melts into a transparent film at temperatures above 900°C, making marks difficult to see.
It is preferable to use it at a temperature of 900°C or lower. The ammonium ions present in this composition are
It increases the solubility of boric acid and improves its adhesion to the surface of high-temperature objects, such as steel, while at the same time keeping the liquid property neutral. Marks made using the composition of the present invention are discontinuous traces of boron phosphate deposited in powder form, such as marks made with chiyolk, so unlike marks made of silicate glass, they do not crack during the cooling process. It will not peel off. Additionally, about 10 to 20 parts by weight of high melting point inorganic pigments can be included in the compositions of the invention described above. By including dispersed inorganic pigments, the mark becomes easier to see even if the boron phosphate itself becomes a transparent film on the surface of a high-temperature object exceeding 900°C. Inorganic pigments include metal oxides or hydroxides, such as finely divided titanium oxide, alumina and aluminum hydroxide. It is usually preferred to further add a dispersant, such as a surfactant, to maintain the dispersion of the pigment, for example 1% by weight of the composition.
can be added. The composition of the present invention in this embodiment has the same adhesion to the object to be marked as that of the above-mentioned composition that does not contain an inorganic pigment, and is also capable of attaching a highly distinguishable mark to objects at temperatures exceeding 900°C. can. Unlike the conventionally known strongly alkaline dispersion type marking agent in which glassy material (water glass) is dispersed, the pigment dispersion type composition of this embodiment forms a hard cake even if the powder precipitates. The precipitate can be easily redispersed by stirring. The present invention will be explained below using examples. Examples Marking compositions (1) and (2) having the compositions (parts by weight) shown in the table below were prepared.

[Table] Compositions (1) and (2) were each applied to steel at 800°C with a diameter of 0.5 mm.
Marks were made by spraying from a distance of 20 cm using a nozzle. Clear white marks were obtained in both compositions (1) and (2). Even after cooling, this white mark does not peel off, is insoluble in water, and has good identification. When composition (2) was used, there was no malfunction of the apparatus due to settling of the powder, and no mark errors due to nozzle clogging occurred. When the composition (2) was used to mark a steel material at 1000°C in the same manner as above, similarly good marks were obtained.
