Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep off any missteering due to inertia force at time of sudden starting by forming each damper chamber being interconnected by a throttle hole at both ends in the sliding direction of a sliding member to be slid by crosswise rocking operation of an outboard motor. CONSTITUTION:When an outboard motor body 7 receives rocking force in both directions as a whole by starting force of an engine 11, a pivot shaft 5 tries to rotate in the same direction with this rocking motion. With this, a screw piston 16 moves up and down by an external thread 18. With this vertical motion, oil in a damper chamber 21 at the upper side or the lower side is moved to the damper chamber 21 at the opposite side by way of a throttle hole 22. A damper effect is produced by resistance of the throttle hole 22 at this time, thus rocking motion in the outboard motor body is checkable. With this constitution, any missteering due to inertia force at time of sudden starting or the like is thus preventable.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention Incidentally, the output of recent engines has increased, and as a result, the inertial force of the reciprocating parts of the engine, such as the crank pin, crank arm, piston, etc., has increased. As a result, when the engine is suddenly started, stopped, or accelerated, the above-mentioned inertia force generates a large excitation force on the outboard motor body (7), which causes the steering wheel to be removed. There is a risk that the ship will move in an unexpected direction.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a steering device in which a steering operation is performed by swinging the outboard motor body in the left-right direction. A steering device for an outboard motor, characterized in that damper chambers are provided on both sides of a sliding member in the sliding direction, and a throttle passage is provided in the sliding member for fluid to move between the two damper chambers. Even if an excitation force that shakes the outboard motor body (the entire body) is generated due to sudden acceleration or sudden start, there is no effect on the fluid moving as the outboard motor body shakes. Since the throttle hole provided in the sliding member acts as a resistance force, it is possible to suppress the rocking of the entire outboard motor due to such vibrational force.

Embodiment FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which the vertical pivot shaft (5) inserted into the swivel bracket (3) is formed into a stepped shape so that its lower half has a small diameter. A guide sleeve (14) is installed in the space formed between the insertion hole (13) of the swivel bracket (3) and the lower side of the step part.
It is fitted and fixed so that it does not move. As shown in FIG. 2, at least one protrusion (15) is formed on the inner periphery of the guide sleeve (14) in the vertical direction.

(16) is a screw piston having a groove (17) on its outer periphery that is slidably fitted in the projection (15) only in the vertical direction, and a female thread (18) is formed on its inner periphery. This female thread (18) is screwed into a male thread (19) formed on the outer periphery of the pivot shaft (5). Damper chambers (21) (21) sealed by seals (20) (20) are formed on both upper and lower sides of this screw piston (16), and furthermore, the damper chambers (21) (21) are communicated with each other. , the screw piston (16) has multiple throttle holes (2) in the vertical direction.
2) is formed. The above damper chamber (21) (

In the above configuration, when the entire outboard motor body (7) receives a force that causes it to swing in the left-right direction due to the excitation force of the engine (11) shown in FIG. Along with the rocking, the pivot shaft (5) also tries to rotate in the same direction. Accordingly, the screw piston (16) screwed onto the pivot shaft (5) has its internal thread (18)
For example, when the screw piston (16) moves upward, the oil in the upper damper chamber (21) is forced to pass through the throttle hole (22). The outboard motor body (7
) will be suppressed from swinging significantly.

3 and 4 show another embodiment of the invention. In this embodiment, a left-right cylinder (25) is formed at the lower end of the swivel bracket (3), and a liner (2) inserted into this cylinder (25) is formed.
A piston (28) having a rack (27) formed on its side surface is inserted into the piston (6) so as to be slidable in the left-right direction. Damper chambers (21) (21) similar to those described above are formed on both sides of this rank piston (28). On the other hand, a pinion (29) that meshes with the rank (27) is integrally attached to the lower end of a vertical pivot shaft (5) that is rotatably inserted into the swivel bracket (3). A throttle hole (22) is formed in the rank piston (28) to communicate between the two damper chambers (21), so that the outboard motor body (7) can swing in the left and right direction. When you receive a force,
The pivot shaft (5) also tries to rotate with it,
Due to the engagement of the pinion (29) and rack (27),
The piston (28) tries to slide in the left and right direction. Then, from one damper chamber (21) to the other damper chamber (
21), the throttle hole (22) acts as a resistance to the movement in the same way as described above, so it is possible to suppress the entire rocking of the outboard motor body (7).

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the present invention, damper chambers are provided on both sides of a sliding member such as a piston that slides as the outboard motor body swings, and the damper chambers are provided in communication with each other. Since the throttle passage acts as a resistance force against the rocking of the outboard motor body due to the large vibrational force of the engine, it is possible to prevent the handle from being taken off by such vibrational force.
