Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to arbitrarily control a push-down force of a key to improve the keying operability by changing the amperage of a current flow through a coil. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet where a coil 4 is wound round a core 3 is used as a means to generate a magnetic attraction for holding a hammer 5 so that the hammer 5 can be picked up to the core 3. When a current flow to the coil 4 is reduced by operating a variable resistor 9, the magnetic attraction generated at both ends of the core 3 becomes weak with the result that a force by which the hammer 5 is attracted to the core 3 also becomes weak and an input can be made with a weak push-down force.

A conventional keyboard device will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing a key input mechanism of a conventional keyboard device. In the figure, a key 1 is connected via a spring 2 to a hammer 35 made of a magnetic material. The hammer 35 is attracted to the permanent magnet 33 and is held above and facing the electrode 7 on the printed circuit board 8 covered with the piezoelectric sheet 6. When the key 1 is pressed, the hammer 35 separates from the permanent magnet 33 due to the repulsive force of the spring 2 and strikes the electrode 7 through the piezoelectric sheet 6. At this time, the voltage instantaneously generated in the piezoelectric sheet 6 is applied to the electrode 7 as an input signal. Further, the depressing force necessary to press the key 1 and the restoring force of the key after pressing the key are determined by the magnetic attraction force of the permanent magnet 33.

Therefore, in the conventional keyboard device, since the magnetic attraction force that attracts the hammer 35 is constant due to the use of a permanent magnet, the strength of the depressing force of the key 1 is adjusted depending on the strength of the depressing force of the user. This has the drawback of not being adjustable and increasing fatigue for some users.

In the embodiment, if the variable resistor 9 is operated to reduce the current flowing through the coil 4, the magnetic attraction force generated at both ends of the core 3 will be weakened, and the force with which the hammer 5 is attracted to the core 3 will also be weakened. Input can be performed using downward force. Conversely, in order to increase the pressing force of the key 1, the current flowing through the coil 4 may be increased.

This embodiment shows an example in which the hammer 25 is an electromagnet. That is, in this embodiment, a hammer 25 made of a magnetic material is used as a core, a coil 24 is wound around a part of the circumference, and the coil 24 is energized to form an electromagnet. A magnetic adsorption substrate 10 is separately provided and the hammer 25 is adsorbed and held on the magnetic adsorption substrate 10. In this embodiment as well, the coil 24 is equipped with a variable resistor 9 as in the first embodiment, and by controlling the variable resistor 9 to change the magnitude of the current flowing through the coil 24, the adsorption substrate 10 and the The suction force between the hammers 25 changes, and the pressing force of the key 1- can be adjusted.
