Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformly grind even a complicated surface to be ground by alternately forming sector-shaped coated areas and sector-shaped uncoated areas on a surface of a base cloth to increase the flexibility and elasticity and uniformly distribute abrasive particles on the surface of the grinding wheel. CONSTITUTION: Abrasive particles are coated in the pattern held in a sector- shaped first area on each cloth layer, and the first area is separated by a generally sector-shaped second area having no abrasive particles. In addition, the first area is arranged so as to be placed on the second area of the adjacent cloth layer in one cloth layer. At least a part of the abrasive particles in the first area of the cloth layer is extended to a working surface of an outer circumferential part within the lamination.

<Prior art> Conventionally, a flexible Q1 abrasive material is made of a non-woven fabric as a base material, and a sheet-like or disc-like one-bly prepreg obtained by adhering abrasive particles to the entire surface or on spots is laminated onto the non-woven fabric. The sheet-like ωjP: material and disc-shaped abrasive wheels made by the above-mentioned methods were known as flexible abrasive articles. The purpose of partially adhering the abrasive particles to the surface of the nonwoven fabric base material of OneBly is to maintain the flexibility and elasticity of the nonwoven fabric so that it can fit well into the curved surface to be polished when used for polishing. For example, machito 11i15
No. 7-501365 (Japanese Patent Application No. 56-502785) discloses an abrasive article containing small agglomerates of abrasive material supported within a matrix of nylon or polynisder fibers, but due to its structure, it does not have sufficient flexibility. Moreover, the distribution of abrasive particles on the polishing surface is not uniform. Matami Kai Showa 61-
No. 154667 (Utility Application No. 6O-39296) states that ``A composition mainly composed of a thermosetting resin containing 20 to 90% of abrasive particles is applied as a coating material 2 with a surface coverage of 5 to 50% and a space filling rate. A sheet-like or disk-like nonwoven fabric with a partial and regular pattern arranged at a ratio of 0.5 to 50% υ1 evenly applied in a size not exceeding the spread including a fingertip-sized circle!l!
1ill of plate-shaped or disk-shaped nonwoven fabric made by laminating and molding cloth
Discloses an idea called "polishing material". This is because the outer periphery, which is the polishing surface, has parts where a large number of abrasive particles overlap and parts where no abrasive particles are present, which tends to result in uneven distribution of the abrasive. This has the disadvantage that there are areas where polishing can be done well and areas where polishing cannot be done, making it impossible to achieve a uniform finish on the work surface.

<Problems to be solved by the invention> Overcoming the deficiencies of the conventional techniques as described above, we developed a non-woven polishing wheel that is highly flexible, elastic, and has a uniform distribution of abrasive particles on the polishing surface. It has been desired for a long time that even complex surfaces to be polished can be uniformly polished by this method.

Means for Solving the Problems〉 As a result of numerous experiments by trial and error conducted by the present inventors, an organic binder composition mainly composed of an adhesive resin containing abrasive particles was applied to a sheet-like or disk-like fabric. Preferably, a fabric (preferably a non-woven fabric) obtained by pressure-woven lamination molding of a plurality of fabric layers obtained by coating a surface of a non-woven base fabric so as to form a specific pattern with coated areas and uncoated areas. In the polishing wheel, the pattern on the surface of the base cloth is generally fan-shaped (or pie-shaped)! i! The present invention is characterized in that cloth regions and fan-shaped uncoated regions are alternately formed. A plurality of coated fabrics may be cut into circles before being laminated, or the outer peripheral surface of the polished fabric may be finished into a laminated pattern. The organic binder composition containing abrasive particles is distributed evenly on the outer peripheral surface constituting the working surface of the abrasive wheel (5L).Based on these findings, the present invention has been achieved by overcoming the deficiencies of the prior art. I ended up doing it.

FIG. 1 is a general perspective view showing a type III example of the polishing wheel of the present invention. When manufacturing this polishing wheel, an abrasive-containing binder is applied to the surface L of the non-woven base fabric. The layers constitute a unit of lamination, and every other m sector on each layer is coated with an abrasive-containing binder, so that it is coated in a diagonal striped pattern in the sector coated area. A plurality of the resulting discs (disc-shaped articles) or layers, in the case of this figure six discs, are each impregnated with an adhesive lvl solution for laminated manufacturing and then laminated under heat and pressure. The abrasive-containing binder solution coated fan-shaped area and the red-painted T5 fan-shaped area are stacked at alternate positions for each unit layer.

As shown in the figure, the coating pattern of the J8 bonding composition containing the adhesive resin as a main component on the base fabric has a fan-shaped area where the abrasive particles are applied and a fan-shaped area where the abrasive particles are not coated (no abrasive particles are contained). A pattern consisting of and a pattern consisting of the patterns are made to exist alternately. It is also desirable to form a regular pattern in this fan-shaped application area in order to obtain a uniform distribution of abrasive particles on the polishing surface. It is desirable that the width of the resin be made smaller by about 1 to 10% than the width obtained by an appropriate method. Next, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the disks are stacked so that the areas coated with abrasive particles and the areas not coated with abrasive particles overlap each other, and as shown in FIG. Push up to.

That is, a nonwoven fabric is coated with thermosetting resin containing abrasive particles in regular dots as shown in Figure (7), and when this is laminated and pressed together, it forms as shown in Figure (8). As mentioned above, the outer periphery, which is the surface for polishing, tends to be in a state where the abrasive is not evenly distributed, such as areas where many abrasive particles overlap and areas where there are no abrasive particles at all, which makes it possible to perform Ttll polishing well. There are some parts that cannot be done,
The disadvantage was that the finished surface was uneven.
