部分については、出力特性等の面から望まれる内
部の断面形と、デザインの面から望まれる外部の
断面形のそれぞれを満足させるように二重管とし
て形成され、さらに内筒4の内面には、第4図に
示すように排気ガスの通過部分の断面形を長手方
向に連続的に変化させる板状の内部材5を設け
て、これを特公昭55−51083号公報に示された従
来技術のようにスポツト溶接により一体的に固定

で、一端にエキゾーストパイプのジヨイント部2
を設けたマフラー本体1は、金属薄内材をもつて
半殻状に形成した一対の外筒3,3と内筒4,4
とにより構成され、外筒3と外筒3内筒4と内筒
4を互いに衝合わせた上、端縁を溶接することに
よつてテーパー状をなすベント管として形成され
る。5は、エンジン出力を可能な限り低下させる
ことなく、しかも十分な消音効果を発揮させるべ
くマフラー1の長手方向に向けてその排気ガス流
路の断面を連続的に変化させるように形成された
板状の内部材で、この内部材5の前後の端部はス
ポツト溶接により半殻状をなす一方の内筒4の内
面に固着されている。そして、さらにこの内部材
5の前後の端部には、その端縁7,7に沿つて第
3,4図に示したように銅系統のろう材8が流し
込まれ、これによつて、内筒4の内面と内部材5
の端縁7の間に形成される段違い部分をろう部材
8により埋め立てて平滑にするとともに、その一
部を両者の間に形成される隙間9内に侵入させ
て、スポツト溶接部6…を一体的にろう付けす

を分散させて、その破壊を防ぐとともに、内部材
の端縁と内筒との間の段部をろう材により平滑に
なして、排気ガスの部分的な乱れを防ぎ、かつ隙
間へのガスの侵入等を未然に阻止することができ
