Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thin disk by adhering disk substrates with recording films facing to each other to a supporting body which absorbs laser light. CONSTITUTION:The disk substrates 1 are adhered to the supporting body 2 which absorbs laser light to be used in a manner that the recording films face to each other. When laser light irradiates the disk, the light is absorbed by the supporting body 2 and never returns to the incident side nor transmits to reach the recording layer of the opposite side. The air gaps 3 can be enough minimized, and thus the obtd. optical disk is thin.

That is, the support used in conventional optical discs is a transparent resin substrate, which reflects the laser used for recording and reproducing the optical disc.

However, in such conventional optical discs, the support reflects the laser used for recording and reproducing, so if the support and the recording film are too close, the recording and reproducing characteristics deteriorate.
This has the disadvantage that a sufficiently large space must be taken up and the overall thickness of the optical disk becomes thick.

The optical disk shown in FIG. 1 is bonded to a disk substrate 1 with an air gap 3 in such a manner that the recording film faces each other with a support 2 in between. This support 2 has the property of absorbing the laser beam 4 irradiated onto the optical disc.

In other words, since the support 2 absorbs the laser beam irradiated onto the optical disc 1, the laser beam does not return to the incident side and does not reach the recording film on the opposite side. There is no effect of this, and the signal quality does not deteriorate.

Furthermore, the air gear 3 can be made narrower than the conventional one, and the overall thickness of the optical disk can be made thinner.

By using the optical disc of the present invention as a support having laser absorption characteristics, reflection from the support can be eliminated, and the support and the disc substrate can be brought close to each other, so that the overall thickness can be reduced. It has the effect of making it thinner.
