Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the vibration and shock being transmitted from a tire to a stabilizer to be efficiently absorbed for enhancing riding comfortableness or the like by connecting the opposite end parts on the counter-ball-joint side of a pair of handles to each other, and providing a vibration absorbing means to this connecting part. CONSTITUTION:A stabilizer connecting rod 1 is formed by integrally providing bar-shaped handle parts 3, 23 and ball joint parts 4, 24 on both sides of a pair of ball joints 2, 22 respectively. And respective counter-ball-joint side end parts 5, 25 of both the handle parts 3, 23 are connected to each other via a connecting part 40, and also the connecting part 40 is constituted as an oil damper 41 for absorbing vibration. In other words, it is so constituted that oil 46 is hermetically filled in the inside of an outer cylinder formed on one end part 5, and the shaft part formed on the other end part 25, with a piston 42 fitted on the shaft part by means of a nut 43, is inserted into the outer cylinder. Thus, the vibration and shock being transmitted from a tire to a stabilizer can be efficiently absorbed.

As a stabilizer connecting rod used in an automobile suspension system, there is one in which a handle is a rigid rod and rubber is arranged at both ends to form a bushing. Further, as shown in FIG. 8, there is also a ball joint portion 4A, 24A having no rubber layer at both ends of the handle portion 3A. Examples of stabilizer connecting rods having this ball joint include Utility Model Application Publication No. 61-64582 and Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 61-200015.

As mentioned above, when a stabilizer connecting rod with bushing-like ends on both ends of the handle is used to connect the lower arm and the stabilizer or the shock absorber and the stabilizer, the swing angle of the rigid rod is small, which increases the degree of freedom in designing the suspension system. It has the disadvantage that it becomes small.

In the connecting rod IA, which has ball joint parts 4A and 24A that do not have a rubber layer at both ends of the dot pattern part 3A, the swing angle of the pole studs 6A and 26A, which correspond to the rigid rods in a bushing type stabilizer connecting rod, is large. This increases the degree of freedom in design, and eliminates problems such as delays in operation transmission and insensitivity to minute changes. However, since there is no rubber part, a problem arises in that the ability to absorb vibrations and shocks is reduced.
