A curved escalator has a main frame that is arc-shaped in the horizontal projection plane and is arranged at an angle to form an endless transport path on the main frame, and a large number of steps with fan-shaped planes are arranged continuously along the transport path. At the same time, they are connected via an outer chain and an inner chain and circulated through a conveyance path. The step consists of a tread and a riser, each of which is provided with a cleat so that they engage with each other. The cleat of the tread is formed concentrically with the arc of the main frame projection plane, and the radius of the riser is the same radius of curvature from the inside to the outside, similar to a linear escalator, and so that it intersects the tread at a right angle.
In other words, it is formed into a cylindrical shape. Therefore, even if the radii of curvature of the horizontal movement part and the inclined movement part at the upper and lower ends of the conveyance path are changed to allow smooth movement of the step, the shape of the cleat of the step itself is not sufficient. This has the disadvantage that the meshing between adjacent steps is no longer perfect, which impedes the effortful effort to achieve smooth movement.

The present invention has been made with the aim of eliminating the above-mentioned drawbacks, and includes a step consisting of a tread having an arcuate cleat groove and a riser having a 1/2 pitch offset cleat groove connected to the tread. In the curved escalator equipped with the above-mentioned curved escalator, the radius of curvature of the tread cleat groove is gradually increased from the center of curvature of the curved escalator toward the outside in an arithmetic series, and the radius of curvature formed by the vertical section along the cleat groove of the riser is increased. , proposes a curved escalator characterized in that the curvature of the curved escalator is gradually increased outward from the center of curvature in an arithmetic series.

The present invention will be explained below based on illustrated embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows a curved escalator, in which a spirally inclined main frame 1 is arranged, a large number of steps 3 are connected and arranged in a conveyance path 2 along the slope of this main frame 1, and a circulating operation is performed. It is becoming more and more common. A parapet 4 is erected on both sides of the conveyance path 2, and a handrail 5 moves along the periphery of the parapet 4 in synchronization with the circulating operation of the steps 3.

Furthermore, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the above-mentioned curved escalator, and as is clear from the figure, the horizontal parts 1a and 1b at the upper and lower ends of this escalator form a larger curvature than the inclined part 1c, and the projection plane The steps 3 are designed to advance at a constant speed regardless of changes in angular velocity. In other words, in the same figure, the horizontal part 1a,

Next, the steps of the above-mentioned curved escalator will be explained in detail based on FIGS. 3 to 6. A large number of consecutively arranged steps 3 are composed of treads 3a and risers 3b shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. 3
is circulated by large and small sprockets arranged at the upper and lower ends of the curved escalator (not shown) via a shaft 3c attached to the lower surface side and an endless inner chain 3d and outer chain 3e attached near both ends of the shaft 3c. be driven. Furthermore, the above shaft 3c
One step roller 3f is attached to the inner end of the roller, and two step rollers 3g, 3g are attached to the outer end of the roller via brackets 3h, and are driven on a rail (not shown). A horizontal roller 3i is further attached to this bracket 3h, and is adapted to roll while receiving a component of the force in the center direction applied to the step 3 during ascending and descending motion. Further, a pair of left and right following rollers 3j are attached to the lower side of the footboard 3a, hanging down through a pair of brackets 3k.
It is designed to roll on a rail (not shown) to allow the steps 3 to move up and down smoothly.

Next, the tread 3a and riser 3 of the step 3 mentioned above
To explain the shape of b in more detail, the radius of curvature of the cleat c formed on the footboard 3a is changed as appropriate. That is, if the pitch between the cleats c of the footboard 3a is P, then the radius of curvature of the cleats c of the footboard 3a is gradually increased from the inside to the outside so as to form an arithmetic series with P as the tolerance. At the same time, the radius of curvature of the cross-sectional shape of the riser 3b along the cleat c is also gradually increased in an arithmetic series. That is, as shown in FIG. 6, the radius of curvature r KN on the outer circumferential side of the cleat is larger than the radius of curvature r' KN on the inner circumferential side, and the riser is formed in a conical shape.

According to this configuration, in the transition section connecting the horizontal portion 1a and the inclined portion 1c as shown in FIG. 2, the planar positional relationship between adjacent steps is as shown in FIG. 5. That is, when the riser of the left step and the right step cleat are engaged, the overlap of the steps becomes smaller from the inside to the outside.
A uniform gap l can be formed from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side in the traveling direction. However, in the conventional riser formed as a cylindrical riser, the radius of curvature is constant, and as shown in FIG. Therefore, it is impossible to set the size of the gap small over the entire step width, and the gap increases as the radius of curvature of the escalator becomes smaller.

これに対して、本実施例の上記構成によれば、

On the other hand, according to the above configuration of this embodiment,
By making the gap l uniform and minimizing it, a highly safe escalator can be realized.

Note that, since the radius of curvature of the cross-sectional shape of the riser 3b is gradually increased from the inside to the outside in this way, it is clear that the deviation dimension L of the upper and lower ends of the riser 3b in the plan view increases as it goes inward. This dimension L is the overlap distance between the step 3 and the adjacent step 3.

Further, in the step 3 according to the present embodiment, in the transition section of the step 3 between the horizontal portion 1a and the inclined portion 1c, and between the inclined portion 1c and the horizontal portion 1b of the conveyance path 2, each step 3 is connected to the protruding end of the respective step. Relative rotation will occur while maintaining the meshing relationship of the riser 3b,
At this time, the gap between the protruding end of the step and the riser 3b always maintains a constant dimension from the start of relative rotation to the point of stop, and the step 3 can be moved up and down safely with an extremely smooth and uniform gap. can be set.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the gap between adjacent steps can always be kept constant, extremely smooth circulating operation of the curved escalator can be achieved.
