However, in the above conventional method, it is necessary to drive the thread for the pattern only into the carpet body part corresponding to the pattern part, so it takes a lot of time and effort to form the pattern, and it is difficult to mass produce. This was a major obstacle. Furthermore, the conventional method has the problem that only patterns with simple shapes can be formed.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the method for forming a pattern on a rug according to the present invention involves applying a mold member having holes corresponding to the pattern into contact with the back surface of a rug body on which a pattern is to be formed. After passing the yarn through the mold member to the surface side of the rug main body, the mold member is removed from the rug main body together with the threads implanted therein to form a predetermined pattern on the surface of the rug main body. I have to.

Reference numeral 4 denotes a mold member in which a plurality of holes 5 corresponding to polka dots formed as a pattern are formed as a plurality of hole rows 6 on its flat surface 4A. As this mold member 4, for example, nonwoven fabric, cloth such as nylon, or paper with high strength is used.

As shown in FIG. 2, with the mold member 4 in contact with the back surface 1R of the carpet 1, for example, a needle 7 of a tuft sewing machine (the needle in the figure) is inserted along one hole row 6 from above the mold member 4. Although only one is shown,
First, one row of holes 6 is created by running a plurality of needles (which may be arranged in parallel) in a straight line.
A thread 8 of a hue different from the color of the piles 3 (for example, white) is passed through the carpet 3 to form a thread row 9 different from the ground color of the carpet 1. In addition, in FIG. 2, the yarn row 9 is shown only halfway.

The yarn rows 9 pass through the base fabric 2 of the carpet 1 through the holes 5 of the mold member 4, and are implanted in the base fabric 2 to form yarns 8A that protrude from the surface of the carpet 1 (hereinafter referred to as pattern yarns 8A). ), the threads 8 are inserted through the flat part 4A of the mold member 4 other than the holes 5 and the base fabric 2, and are implanted in the flat part 4A and protrude from the surface of the carpet 1.

Thereafter, a plurality of thread rows 9 different from the ground color of the carpet 1 are formed on each hole row 6 in the same manner. The patterned yarns 8A and non-patterned yarns 8B forming these yarn rows 9 are in a so-called loop pile shape, and are cut as appropriate after forming all the yarn rows 9. It may also be formed into a cut pile shape as shown in .

Next, when trying to remove the mold member 4 from the back surface 1R of the carpet 1, among the patterned threads 8A... and the non-patterned threads 8B... forming the thread rows 9, the non-patterned threads 8B... are removed from the mold member 4. Since it is implanted in the flat part 4A of the mold member 4, as the mold member 4 moves in the direction of separation,
It passes through the base fabric 2 of the carpet 1 and separates from the carpet 1 together with the mold member 4. On the other hand, pattern thread 8

Since it is embedded in the base fabric 2 of the carpet 1, even if the mold member 4 is separated from the back surface 1R of the carpet 1, the carpet 1

Therefore, on the surface 1F side of the carpet 1, a polka dot pattern is formed by the white pattern threads 8A on the blue pile fabric (see FIGS. 5 and 6).

The method of the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments; for example, the rug body 1 on which the pattern is formed may be made of a woven fabric other than pile fabric or a knitted fabric. Alternatively, a plurality of mold members 4 may be prepared, and the pattern may be sequentially formed by each mold member 4. In this case, a complex pattern with different hues can be formed. Furthermore,
The threads 8 may be of the same color as the piles 3 on the surface of the carpet 1. In this case, carpet 1
This is because the heights of the threads 8A, 8B protruding from the surface of the piles 3 may be made different from the height of the piles 3.

As explained above, in the method for forming a pattern on a rug according to the present invention, a mold member having a plurality of holes corresponding to the pattern is brought into contact with the back surface of the rug body on which the pattern is to be formed. After passing the yarn through the mold member to the surface side of the rug main body, the mold member is removed from the rug main body together with the threads implanted therein to form a predetermined pattern on the surface of the rug main body. Therefore, the time and labor required for pattern formation can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, complex patterns, which are difficult to form using conventional methods, can be easily formed, and mass production becomes possible.
