<Prior Art> Particularly in recent years, side moldings for automobiles have tended to become larger, and so-called hollow moldings, which are hollow inside, are being used for the purpose of reducing weight and buffering external forces.

Generally, many hollow moldings are manufactured by injection molding the end portions after hollow extrusion molding, but in recent years, hollow moldings in which the end portions are also blow molded at the same time have been considered.

<Problems to be solved by the invention> In this case, when attempting to adhere a hollow molding to a vehicle with an adhesive layer (for example, double-sided adhesive tape), since it is hollow, the pressing force from the front side will be applied to the back side (mounting surface side). It may not be transmitted well and the entire surface may not be evenly pressed and bonded. For this purpose, a plurality of hollow protrusions protruding from the mounting surface side into the hollow part are arranged in the axial direction of the hollow molding (Utility Model No. 56-175247
(See Publication No.). This protrusion is formed by standing a rib on the cavity surface of a blow molding die and letting the meat of the balisong run along the rib. Therefore, the thickness of the protrusion is thinner than other parts of the molding. Therefore, sufficient strength could not be imparted to the protrusions.

<Means for Solving the Problems> This invention is a hollow decorative mold made in view of the above problems, and its configuration is such that in a hollow mold in which an end portion and a thin hollow protrusion are integrally blow-formed, the hollow A hollow protrusion is formed from the front surface of the molding toward the back side, and a protrusion formed on the back surface of the decorative plate is fitted into the hollow protrusion.

In the blow-molded hollow decorative molding shown in FIG. 1, 11 is a decorative plate, 12 is a hollow part 1
3, the decorative plate 11
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the surface 11a has letters,
A pattern is engraved in relief, and rib-like protrusions 11c protrude downward from the back surface 11b and are arranged at predetermined intervals in the axial direction. This protrusion 11
c may be divided into two in the axial direction as shown in FIG. Further, an undercut portion 11d is formed at the lower end of the projection 11c, and the shape thereof may be formed as shown in FIGS. 5A, 5B, and 5C. This makes it difficult for the decorative plate 11 to come off from the hollow molding 12.

Next, this decorative plate 11 is set in one of the molds 31 as shown in FIG. 6 (in-mold).
Then, a parison (not shown) is inserted as a hollow molding material into a predetermined position, and when the mold is matched with the other mold 32 and blow-molded, a hollow decorative molding in which the decorative plate 11 and the hollow molding 12 are integrated is formed. Manufactured. In this hollow decorative mold,
Rib-shaped protrusion 11 formed on decorative plate 11
c is fitted as an insert into the hollow protrusion 12c formed on the hollow molding 12 side without any gap. In this case, it is preferable that the height Q of the protrusion 12c is approximately the same as the height P of the hollow portion 13, or slightly smaller than the height P of the hollow portion 13, to narrow the gap S, as shown in FIG.

Note that the undercut portion 11d contacts the back side (mounting surface side) 12b in a linear manner, but if a flat plate portion is formed, it is possible to make two-dimensional contact, and the hollow contact molding can be attached to the vehicle with adhesive or the like. Effective when pressure bonding.

In this way, the hollow decorative molding of this embodiment has the above-mentioned hollow protrusion that serves both the function of attaching the decorative plate (forming the decorative part) and reinforcing the molding. Compared to conventional hollow moldings with hollow protrusions that cannot be used, no extra steps or other means are required for forming decorative parts, and workability (productivity) in forming decorative parts is improved.

In addition, a separate hollow molding 12 is blow-molded so that the hollow protrusion 12c as described above is formed.
Furthermore, a rib-shaped protrusion 11c formed on the back surface of the decorative plate 11 may be fitted.

<Operations and Effects of the Invention> As described above, the hollow decorative molding according to the invention has a structure in which the protrusion of the decorative plate is fitted into the hollow protrusion that has a reinforcing function.

The hollow protrusion is formed at the same time as the hollow molding is blow-molded and is thinner than other parts of the hollow molding, so it is difficult to obtain sufficient strength by itself. However, when the protrusion of the decorative plate is fitted into the hollow protrusion without any gaps, the hollow protrusion is reinforced and has a sufficient mold reinforcing function.
