Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a latent-image design appear or disappear or view it in a different color manner by viewing by the change of a visual angle by using offset ink and intaglio printing ink including a vehicle having a repellence and mutually having repellence and conducting operation so that intaglio printing ink is placed only onto sections except an offset design. CONSTITUTION:Offset lines 4, 5 are printed onto a printing medium 1 such as paper at intervals 6 by the offset ink of two colors. Intaglio lines 9 corresponding to the width of the sections 6, to which the offset lines are not printed, are formed onto an intaglio printing plate 7, and intaglio printing ink is printed onto the printing medium 1. Since ink having repellence is used as offset ink and intaglio printing ink at that time, intaglio printing ink 8 is attached onto the sections 6 having no offset line while intaglio printing ink 8 is not transferred on the offset lines 4, 5, and positional displacement is not generated in the low lines 4, 5 by offset ink and the intaglio lines 9 having height by intaglio printing ink and a precisely inserted print is acquired.

Since banknotes and securities have the characteristics of cash notes, they are required to be difficult to forge or alter. In particular, since recent advances in copying technology have been remarkable, various measures to prevent counterfeiting have been devised. As an example of a visual counterfeit prevention measure, a password forming material using a moiré effect (
(see Japanese Patent Publication No. 60-645), those in which a latent image is created by changing the angle of the lines or making use of the difference in height of the ink mounds (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-open Nos. 55-117689 and 49-43718), etc. is publicly known.

However, the above-mentioned printed matter is made by applying parallel lines, halftone dots, and other fine patterns on the printing plate, and requires high accuracy in the preparation of the printing plate and the installation of the printing plate on the printing machine. It is common that In particular, in the case of password formations that utilize the moiré effect, a password that is normally unrecognizable is revealed by overlaying an auxiliary sheet, etc., and can be confirmed with the naked eye. Cannot make false judgments.

In addition, it is difficult to forge by color separation using a general camera, but even if it is not possible to obtain exactly the same password by color separation using a high-precision scanner, it is possible to make the password appear by using an auxiliary sheet. It is possible to forgery to such an extent.

In addition, printed matter in which a latent image is formed by changing the angle of the lines or the height of the ink padding is designed so that the latent image appears when viewed at a different viewing angle without using any auxiliary means. Authenticity can also be easily determined. However, since this printed matter is made by forming the latent image pattern and the other parts on the same printing plate, only the latent image pattern can be formed using the same ink, and the latent image pattern It is not possible to obtain multicolor printed matter in which the colors of other parts are changed. Further, even if the latent image pattern portion and the other portions are made up of separate plates and printed with different colored inks, there is an upper limit to the precision of plate making and the installation of the plates on the printing press.

At this time, if the pitch between the intaglio lines is large, and if the distance between the offset line and the intaglio line is sufficiently large compared to the accuracy of the installation of the printing plate on the printing press, printing is possible, but it is possible to increase the height of the intaglio line. If the line spacing becomes too large, you will not be able to obtain the desired line height. On the other hand, if the pitch between the intaglio lines becomes too small, the height of the offset plate and intaglio plate on the printing press will increase. Installation requires precision, and once the pattern is too fine, it becomes impossible to imprint it.

The present invention is a completely different printed matter from these printed matter and its printing method, which can be produced with the same level of plate-making precision as the conventional one or simpler than the conventional one, and which uses auxiliary means such as an auxiliary sheet. Offset (offset printing) and intaglio (intaglio) printing are characterized by the fact that a latent image consisting of a certain pattern or pattern may appear or disappear, or the color of the latent image may appear different, simply by changing the viewing angle from which the printed material is viewed. The present invention provides a combination printed matter and a printing method thereof.

In normal multicolor printing, several colors of ink are overprinted, so physical properties such as ink tack are adjusted to make it easier for the post-print ink to sit on top of the pre-print ink. If this physical property is not adjusted at all, the ink of the after-printing will be on top of the ink of the first-printing. However, even in this case, the ink will not be completely repelled, and some of the ink of the after-printing will be This depends on the properties of the vehicle, pigment, etc. contained in each ink, and particularly depends on the properties of the vehicle used in the ink. This is due to the combination of offset and intaglio printing. The same is true for offset ink, and whether or not intaglio ink is easy or difficult to get on top of offset ink is greatly influenced by the properties of the vehicle used for each ink.

Focusing on these properties, the present invention is characterized by using an offset ink and an intaglio ink that contain a repulsive vehicle and have mutually repellent properties, so that the intaglio ink does not rest on the offset pattern, and A printing method that makes it possible to precisely match the offset pattern and the intaglio pattern by applying intaglio ink only to the other areas.
As a result, due to the combination of the latent image pattern formed by offset printing and the intaglio pattern formed in areas other than this latent image, the latent image pattern that is normally unrecognizable may appear or disappear when viewed from a different viewing angle. , which provides printed materials that appear to have different colors.

The printing method of the present invention is a combination of offset and intaglio printing that uses offset ink and intaglio ink that have mutually repellent properties to realize precise fitting of the offset pattern and the intaglio pattern. Installation of the printing plate on a printing press is precise, easy, and highly accurate.
You can get high quality printed matter. Thereby, the shape, color, size, etc. of the latent image can also be set arbitrarily.

In addition, the combination of offset and intaglio prints obtained by this printing method, which are characterized by latent image patterns that are normally invisible to the naked eye, appear and disappear, or appear to change in color, require the use of auxiliary media. Rather, just by looking at the printed surface from a different angle, the latent image appears or the color of the latent image changes, making it easy to determine authenticity. Also,
If this printed matter is produced by an inexperienced person by color separation using a color copying machine, camera, scanner, etc., the latent image may not be visible at all, or the latent image may be visible from the beginning, and when viewed from a certain angle as in the present invention. It is not possible to produce a printed matter in which a latent image appears only when the image is exposed.

As shown in FIG. 2, offset lines (4) and (5) are printed on a printing medium (1) such as paper using offset ink of two colors with a spacing (6) between the lines. Lines (4), (5
) are offset lines that form a certain pattern or design, and each can be recognized to some extent individually, but when they are combined, as will be described later, they are printed in a masonry pattern so that they cannot be distinguished with the naked eye. The intaglio line (9) corresponding to the width of the part (6) where the offset line is not printed is intaglio.
On the printing plate (it is not easy to form it by force and print it in a predetermined position.Offset lines (4), (5)
If it becomes a curved line or a fine pattern, it is almost impossible. Inserting the intaglio line between the offset lines without misalignment is possible only by using the offset ink and intaglio ink that have mutually repellent properties.

As shown in Figure 3, there are offset lines (4
), (5) may form a line that is slightly wider than the width of the unprinted part, or it may be a solid line that includes both the part where the offset line is printed and the part without the offset line. . In intaglio printing, high printing pressure is applied, so ink adheres to the print medium (1) in areas where there are no offset lines.

On the other hand, on the offset lines (4) and (5) where the offset ink is printed, the intaglio ink (8) does not transfer because the offset ink and the intaglio ink have repulsion properties.

As a result, as shown in Figure 4, the low lines (4) and (5) made with offset ink and the intaglio line (9) with an appropriate height made with intaglio ink were precisely fitted together without any misalignment. You can get prints. In the printed matter produced in this way, the line width of the offset lines, the pitch between the lines, and the height of the intaglio lines (9) can be arbitrarily selected, and a fine pattern can be formed. In addition, in order to obtain this printed matter, the ink must have repellency and 1. It is even more desirable to use a combination offset and intaglio printing press that can perform intaglio printing immediately before the offset ink dries.

As shown in FIG. 4, when this printed matter is viewed from above, the offset lines (4), (5) and the intaglio line (9) are visible at the same time. Although the offset lines (4) and (5) are provided with latent images, they cannot be recognized with the naked eye and therefore appear as mere two-color lines. Furthermore, since it is viewed from above, the height difference between the offset line, which is a low line, and the intaglio line (9), which has an appropriate height, is not recognized. Next, if you look at the printed surface from an angle smaller than a certain angle (a), you will see that the intaglio line (9) and the offset line (4),
(5), the offset line (5) located behind the intaglio line is blocked and cannot be seen, and only the offset line (4) located behind it is visible. Offset lines (4) and (5) can be seen at a certain angle (

Of course offset lines (4), (5) and intaglio lines (9)
may be composed not only of parallel lines and curves, but also of points of arbitrary shapes, dotted lines, etc. The color of the offset line is not limited to two colors and can be set arbitrarily, and the number of latent images, the color, and the direction in which the latent images appear can also be changed accordingly.

刷物を得るための諸条件は以下のように設定した。
Here, the offset line (5a) is a line made of red offset ink, and the offset line (4a) is printed in blue overlappingly thereon. The width of the offset line (5a) is set to be approximately twice that of the offset line (4a). The offset line (4a) consists of a back portion and a latent image forming portion, which have the same line width and are arranged in parallel, but are shifted by the line width. When this offset line (4a) is printed alone, the latent image portion is only slightly recognizable. However, the blue offset line (4a) is printed over the red offset line (5a), and the area of the offset line (4a) and the area of the area where only the offset line (5a) is printed are different. Since they are approximately equal and the width of the offset line is actually smaller than shown in the figure, the latent image formed by the offset line (4a) cannot be recognized with the naked eye. Since there are intaglio lines (9a) between the offset lines, the latent image is even more difficult to recognize. FIG. 6 shows the printed matter viewed from a certain angle in the X direction, and FIG. 7 shows the printed matter viewed from a certain angle in the Y direction. As shown in Fig. 6, when viewed from the X direction, the back part of the offset line (4a) and the latent image part of the offset line (5a) are blocked by the intaglio line (9a), and the red part of the offset line (5a) and the back part are blocked by the intaglio line (9a). Offset line (4a)
A blue latent image appears. When viewed from a certain angle in the Y direction, as shown in FIG. 7, on the contrary, a blue pack portion due to the offset line (4a) and a red latent image due to the offset line (5a) appear. In this way, a combination print of offset and intaglio using two colors of offset ink and one color of intaglio ink was obtained, and a print (p) in which the latent image appeared and disappeared depending on the viewing angle and in which the color of the latent image appeared to be different was obtained. The conditions for obtaining this printed material were set as follows.

Offset lines are printed on a letterpress photosensitive resin plate (
Treleaf WF 70 (manufactured by Toshi Co., Ltd.) plate 2
Printing was carried out using two color dry offset inks in which the main component of the vehicle was a plate and a resin varnish prepared by dissolving a rosin-modified phenolic resin in a drying oil. The intaglio line is made by printing a positive film on a brass plate with a line slightly thicker than the width of the non-printing part of the offset, developing it, etching it, and then chrome-plating the surface, a synthetic resin face, and a hydrophilic surface. and an intaglio ink having a vehicle based on a lipophilic solvent. The printing machine used was an offset Sammel intaglio rotary printing machine that can perform a combination of dry offset and intaglio printing, and the paper used was high-quality paper.

In the offset and intaglio combination printed matter having the latent image pattern of the present invention, the latent image appears or the color of the latent image changes by simply viewing the printed surface by changing the angle without using any auxiliary means. False judgments can be easily made. In addition, unlike printed materials that have latent images created by intaglio lines alone or by differences in the height of the ink layers, since this is a combination of offset and intaglio printed materials, the shape and color of the latent image can be set at will. can be done. Since it is difficult to forge by copying or the like, it has excellent effects such as being able to be used for banknotes, securities, bonds, checks, passports, etc., which require counterfeit prevention measures. Furthermore, since the printing method of the present invention utilizes the repulsion properties of offset ink and intaglio ink to produce a combination of offset and intaglio printed matter, the plate making precision and the installation of the printing plate on the printing machine are very precise. High-precision, high-quality printed matter can be easily obtained without the need for
