Abstract

PURPOSE:To harmonize the appearance of a lighting fixture at lights-out time with the body by providing a dimming layer in front of a lens of a lighting fixture in which a light source is provided between the reflecting mirror and the lens, and a cover in front of the dimming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a lighting fixture for a vehicle, a lens 4 is colored in the predetermined lamplight color with the transparent glass, etc. The shading part 5 of the dimming layer is colored in the color harmonious with the body color, and the lens side surface of the shading part is covered by the metallic film. A cover 8 made of the transparent resin such as acrylic resin is colored palely in the tone as same as the shading part 5. The shading part 5 is formed by, for example, printing. With this lighting fixture, the appearance at lights-out time is the compounded color of the shading part color and the cover color. At lights-on time, the cover is colored so palely that the desired lamplight color is not marred. The shape and the arrangement of the shading part and the area ratio of the shading part and the transmitting part are decided in consideration with the optical path so that the desired luminous intensity distribution can be obtained.

In the vehicle lamp constructed as described above, the lens 4 is formed using a transparent material such as glass, acrylic, or polycarbonate resin, and is colored in a predetermined lamp color. The light shielding portion 5 of the light attenuation layer is colored in a desired color that harmonizes with the color of the vehicle body, and if desired, the lens side surface of the light shielding portion is covered with a metal film to completely shield light. There is. Note that there are no restrictions on the shape, arrangement, etc. of the light-shielding portion 5 as long as it does not become an eyesore when turned on. The cover 8 is made of a transparent material such as acrylic or polycarbonate resin, and is lightly colored in the same color as the light-shielding portion 5.

The following method can be used to form the light shielding portion 5. That is, when the light-attenuating layer 7 and its cover 8 are configured separately, the first method is to attach a transparent film or sheet-like material A such as acrylic polycarbonate resin to the light-shielding portion 5 as shown in FIG. Alternatively, as a second method, as shown in FIG. 3, a metal film B is first applied to the entire surface of the film or sheet material A by vacuum deposition or sputtering. , then print an etching resist with a pattern corresponding to the light shielding part 5 on it, and then remove the metal in the non-printed part by etching, or as a third method, It is formed by hot stamping onto the same film or sheet material A using a transfer foil provided with a pattern corresponding to the light-shielding portion 5.The cover 8 of the light-reducing layer is formed by the following method. In other words, when the light attenuation layer 7 and the cover 8 are integrally formed, the first method is to form a pattern in the same manner as described above, as shown in FIG. The cover 8 can be injection molded by vacuum forming the film or sheet material in advance in a mold, or as a second method, the sheet light attenuation layer 7 can be formed into a product shape as shown in FIG. Alternatively, as a third method, as shown in FIG. The transfer film provided with E is attached to a mold as shown in Fig. 7, and the cover 8 is integrally formed by injection molding.By integrally molding the light-reducing layer 7 and the cover 8 in this way, the shape of the cover is formed. It is possible to easily form a light-attenuating layer along the following lines.

(Effects of the Invention) The vehicle lamp obtained with the above configuration has an appearance in which the color of the light-shielding portion and the color of the cover are combined when the light is turned off. Further, when the lamp is turned on, the light emitted from the light source passes through a lens having a desired lamp color, passes through a light-transmitting portion of the light-attenuating layer, passes through the cover, and exits to the outside. Since the cover is colored only in a very light color, the light emitted from the outside will not spoil the desired light color. Furthermore, a desired light distribution can be obtained by setting the shape and arrangement of the light-shielding portions, or the area ratio of the light-transmitting portion and the light-shielding portion, with sufficient consideration given to the path of light exiting the lens.
