Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of ground or grass in a gold course by burying ferrous materials consisting of ferromagnetic bodies in the ground toward the running direction of a cart in parallel and at an optional width, magnetically sensing the buried materials and steering the cart in an S-shape or in zigzags with respect to the running direction. CONSTITUTION:In the course of the gold course, sensing lines 2 and 2' generated by burying the ferrous materials 1 consisting of the ferromagnetic bodies in the ground at adaquate intervals and in an adaquate depth are faced to the running direction, and they are provided in parallel with the adaquate width so as to constitute a travel road 3. The cart 4 is caused to advance in the travel road 3. Sensing means such as magnetic sensors 5 and 5' are provide din the cart 4. When the sensing means 5 and 5' in the cart 4 approach either of the lines 2 and 2' and sense the line 2, the cart 4 is automatically steered to the other line 2, and advance is proceeded. Automatic travel is attained in the S-shape or in zigzags in the travel road 3 by repeating said operation. Thus, the damage of the ground and grass can considerably be reduced.

<Conventional technology> Conventionally, carts used on golf courses include carts that are directly operated manually, electric or engine-powered passenger carts that are operated by a person, and carts that are driven by a person riding on a cable buried underground. There are electromagnetic induction carts, rail-road carts with rails laid on the ground, etc.

That is, in the present invention, iron-based materials made of ferromagnetic material are buried in the ground in parallel and with a desired width in the direction of travel of the cart, and the buried objects are magnetically sensed to move in the direction of travel of the cart. Its basic feature is that it steers in a figure-eight or zigzag pattern.

<Operation> Sensing lines are formed by burying iron-based materials made of ferromagnetic material underground at appropriate intervals and depths, and are laid in parallel with appropriate widths and facing the direction of travel. Configure a road surface and move the cart forward within the road surface.

The cart is equipped with a sensing means such as a magnetic sensor, and when the cart's sensing means approaches one of the lines and senses the line, it automatically steers in the direction of the other line.
Continue moving forward. By repeating the above-described operations, the vehicle can automatically travel in a figure-eight or zigzag pattern on the road surface.

Sensing lines (2) (2'), which are formed by burying iron-based materials (1) made of ferromagnetic material at appropriate intervals and at appropriate depths, within the course of a golf course, are used to guide carts. The running road surface (3) is formed by laying the tires in parallel with each other in the direction of the road and with an appropriate width.

Furthermore, the detection signals of the sensors (5) (5') are sent to a control circuit (not shown), and this control circuit then sends a steering control signal to a compensator (not shown), thereby steering the cart. The angle can be changed freely, and a nearly straight trajectory of the cart can be obtained in the direction of travel.
