By the way, this type of printed circuit board connector has a socket a and a plug b as shown in Fig. 3.
When the plug b is connected to the socket a, the flat tongue d of the plug b inserted through the opening c of the socket a is connected to the socket a.
The socket a is placed in the terminal surface part e'... of a large number of plug terminals e arranged in parallel at predetermined intervals on both the upper and lower surfaces in the longitudinal direction of the flat tongue part d (in the drawing, the upper and lower surfaces in the depth direction). The contact portions f' of the large number of socket terminals f on the sides are pressed into contact with each other to be electrically connected. However, in the case of such a connector, as the number of socket terminals f increases, the upper and lower walls g and h of the socket a move upward and downward in the center of the opening c due to the reaction force of the contact section f'. There is a problem in that there is a large deflection as if opening, and depending on the degree of this deflection, a contact failure may occur between the terminal surface portion e' located in the center and the contact portion f'. Moreover, socket a
Since the body is generally made of synthetic resin, there is a problem in that the above-mentioned opening becomes more noticeable due to deterioration over time, further worsening the poor contact condition.

Therefore, in order to solve this problem, plug b
An annular fitting wall is integrally formed that surrounds the outer surface of the body of socket a from the upper, lower, left, and right sides of the body of socket a, and the inner surface of this fitting wall is brought into contact with the upper, lower, left, and right outer surfaces of the body of socket b. It is possible to consider something that prevents the mouth from opening in the center. However, this method requires a large amount of materials, leading to a significant increase in cost. Moreover, the body of the plug becomes large, making it difficult to cope with the miniaturization of electrical equipment, and depending on the installation space of the electrical equipment. It may be impossible to equip it.

With the above configuration, the contact portions 3c of the socket terminals 3 arranged in large numbers in the longitudinal direction within the body 2 of the socket 1 can be inserted through the opening 4 of the socket 1, as shown in FIG. The terminal surface portions 23a of the flat tongue portion 23 of the plug 20 are pressed against each other, so that the reaction force of each contact portion 3c opens the center portions of the upper and lower walls 7, 8 of the socket 1. In this case, a large number of fitting grooves 9 are formed in the longitudinal direction of the upper and lower walls 7 and 8 of the socket 1, and each fitting groove 9 has a fitting groove formed at the top and bottom of the front surface of the body 21 of the plug 20, respectively. Since the protrusions 33 are fitted in such a way as to sandwich the upper and lower walls 7 and 8 from above and below, opening at the center of the upper and lower walls 7 and 8 is prevented, and the contact portion 3c at the center is prevented from opening. Terminal surface 22a
It is possible to eliminate poor contact with the parts.

Furthermore, if the fitting grooves 9 are made to communicate with the terminal insertion passage 6' of the body 2 as in the above embodiment,
Since the rear surface of this fitting groove 9 can be used as a locking surface when the socket terminal 3 is installed in the body 2 in a manner that prevents it from coming out, a locking piece for locking the socket terminal is specially formed in the body 2. You don't have to do it,
This has the advantage of preventing troublesome manufacturing and complicating the structure of the socket body.

(Effects of the invention) As is clear from the description of the embodiments above, in the connector for connecting printed circuit boards of the invention, the contact portions of the socket terminals arranged in large numbers in the longitudinal direction within the body of the socket are connected to the flat plate of the plug. Even if the tongue is pressed against each terminal surface and the reaction force of each contact portion acts to open the center of the upper and lower walls of the socket, the fit formed at the top and bottom of the front surface of the plug body The opening at the center of the upper and lower walls of the socket is effective because the protrusion fits into the insertion groove formed in the longitudinal direction of the upper and lower walls of the socket and clamps the upper and lower walls of the socket from above and below. This effectively eliminates poor contact between the contact portion of the socket terminal and the terminal surface portion of the plug terminal at the center.

Moreover, the fitting protrusion is formed on the front surface of the body of the plug, and is fitted from the front side into the fitting groove formed in the upper and lower walls of the socket.
The body of the plug does not increase in size, and furthermore, the material of the fitting protrusion is offset by the fitting groove, and the material does not increase, which effectively prevents an increase in cost, which is an extremely useful effect. .
