部に軸着されたハンドル9によつて回転すること
により蛇口本体4に内挿されたバルブ(図示せ
ず)を開閉作動せしめるシヤフト、10は第4図
に拡大して示すごとく、ゴム様弾性材単体に製せ
られ、軸方向一側に前記カバー6の内側テーパ面
6′と対応するごとくなるテーパ面10aが形成
されてなる環状のパツキンで、カバー6の内周空
間内にあつて外径部10bが該カバー6の内側テ
ーパ面6′とシリンダ部5の上端面5′との間に挟
着保持され、内径リツプ部10cにおいてシヤフ
ト8外周面に摺接して、蛇口本体4内を流れる水
がカバー6の軸孔7とシヤフト8との間の隙間1

aは内径方向へ逃げるごとく摺動せんとし、かつ
前記レンチによるカバー6に対する締付トルクに
はばら付きがあるため、該締付け力が大きい場合
には、パツキン10の内径方向への変形が過大と
なり、すなわち該パツキン10の内径方向へ過大
な面圧がシヤフト8(ハンドル9)の回転を阻害
するようになり、蛇口の開栓および閉栓動作に支
障をきたすものであつた。

側テーパ面と圧接するごとくなるテーパ面に、フ
ツ化エチレン樹脂等弾性変形率および摩擦の小さ
な材質になる補強環を焼着したものである。

て、該カバー6の内側テーパ面6′に圧接するパ
ツキン1の補強環3は、弾性変形量がきわめて小
さいフツ化エチレン樹脂製であるため、ゴム様弾
性材製本体2の内径方向への変形を抑制する作用
を有し、また該補強環3は低摩擦性であり、その
テーパ面3′は前記レンチによつて回転するカバ
ー6の内側テーパ面6′に対して良好に摺動する
ため、本体2の外径部2bにおける捩り変形を抑
制する作用を有している。
