【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案はスラリー用メカニカルシールの改良に
関するもので、とくに組み付けの簡単なメカニカ
ルシールを提供することを目的とするものであ
る。

従来よりメカニカルシールは第1図に示すよう
にハウジングaとシヤフトb間に、それぞれハウ
ジングa側に設けられるハウジング側組立体cと
シヤフト側に設けられるシヤフト側組立体dから
なる部材を組み付けて構成するものであるが、両
組立体が別体であるため、その組み込みに際して
組込治具を必要とするだけでなく手間がかかる等
の問題を有していた。また、従来のメカニカルシ
ールは摺動部が露出しているため、スラリーが直
接当突し、シールの寿命が短かくなる欠点を有し
ていた。

部材の円筒状部と回転ケースの対向面間には固形
物の侵入を阻止する非接触片のダクトシートを設
けてあるのでスラリー中の固形物が高速度でフロ
ーテイングシートまたは緩衝リングに衝突してこ
れらが破損してしまうといつたことがない。した
がつて、本考案ののメカニカルシールは耐久性に
優れたものである。
