Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by starting a clock function when it is first detected that a power supply is turned on after an electronic equipment is attached to a vehicle and the power supply is connected to the electronic equipment and hereafter keeping the working of the clock function even after a power switch is turned off. CONSTITUTION:An electronic equipment X is attached to a vehicle Y and a power supply 21 is connected to the equipment X. Then a fact that a power switch 3 of the equipment X is turned on is first detected. Thus a controller 1 starts the working of the clock function. Then the working of the clock function, if started once is kept even though the switch 3 is turned off. Thus the clock function keeps its working as long as it is connected to the power supply 21. As a result, the power consumption is reduced since the clock function of the equipment X does not work in a state where the equipment X is attached to the vehicle Y and the power supply 21 is connected to the equipment X.

When installing an electronic device with such a clock function in a vehicle, if the vehicle's power source (battery) is connected to the electronic device, the original function of the electronic device will not work unless the power switch is turned on. Power is supplied to control parts such as computers regardless of whether the power switch is on or off, and the clock function starts operating as soon as the power is connected.

In FIG. 1, an A terminal 22 and a B terminal 23 are connected to an electronic device or a battery 21 of a vehicle Y via an ignition switch 20. The A terminal 22 side is configured to supply power to each mechanism of the electronic device via the power switch 3. That is, power is supplied to the power amplifier 11, and the cassette preamplifier 12.degree. radio section 13. It is configured to supply power to the cassette mechanism drive section 14. On the other hand, the B terminal 23 side supplies power to the control device 1 mainly composed of a microcomputer via the power supply circuit 4.
It is configured to supply power regardless of whether the power switch 3 is on or off. The control device 1 is provided with an oscillator 2 such as a crystal oscillator, and is configured to function as a clock by dividing the clock generated by the oscillator 2 within the control device 1. However, this oscillator 2 does not operate simply by turning on the power from the power supply circuit 4 to the control device 1;
It is configured to operate for the first time when the power switch 3 is turned on for the first time after the power is turned on.

The control bag Vl11 is configured to receive an on-detection signal of the power switch 3 from the level change circuit 5. The level change circuit 5 is connected to the battery 2 when the power switch 3 is turned on.
The power supply from the power switch 1 is reduced to a constant level of tjr and transmitted to the control position 1 as an ON signal for the power switch 3. The control device 61 first switches the power switch 3 from the level change circuit 5 after turning on the power from the power circuit 4.
ON (When L4 is transmitted, the oscillator 2 is activated and the clock function is started.

The control device 1 waits for the power switch 3 on signal input from the level change circuit 5 (step 34), and maintains the low consumption mode until the input is received. When the power switch 3 is turned on, the control device 1 starts normal operation and performs reception and control of the radio section 13 and control of the cassette mechanism drive section 14 (step 35). At the same time, oscillator 2 also starts oscillating,
The clock function also starts operating and displays a clock on the display section 6 (step 36). Then, it waits for the time to be adjusted via the operating section 7 (step 37), and when the time is adjusted, the watch mode is started (step 38).

According to the configuration described above, the clock function of the electronic device X does not operate when the electronic device X is mounted on the vehicle Y and the power source is connected, so that power consumption can be kept low. Further, the clock function starts when the power switch 3 is turned on for the first time after the power is connected, and thereafter, the operation of the clock function is guaranteed regardless of whether the power switch 3 is turned on or off, so there is no problem in using the device.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, the present invention provides an in-vehicle electronic device with a clock function that is installed in a vehicle as a means for detecting that the power is turned on for the first time after connecting the power source. ,
The clock function starts operating upon this detection, and has a means for maintaining the clock function operation even if the power switch is turned off thereafter, so that the clock function does not start operating immediately after connecting the power source as in the conventional case. This has the effect of saving power consumption.
