[Prior art and its problems] A long steel material that is continuously fed laterally on a wide conveyor may shift in the width direction of the conveyor (i.e., the longitudinal direction of the steel material) due to various reasons.
For example, if you try to package a large number of books at once in the next process, it will be very difficult to handle if they are misaligned.
Conventionally, workers manually pushed and pulled the ends of the steel materials from the side of the conveyor to align them, which required a great deal of effort.

一方このような労力を省くため、例えば、コン

On the other hand, in order to save such labor, for example, a contact plate is arranged in an inclined manner in a horizontal plane so that the end face of the steel material touches one side of the conveyor. It is also possible to align the steel members by pushing them to a fixed position at the top, but with this method, the friction between the steel members and the plate prevents only one end of the steel members from moving forward by the conveyor, so each steel member will not be aligned properly. It was hot. Another option is to install a pusher on one side of the conveyor that pushes the end face of the steel material, but even in this case, when the steel material is being conveyed one after another, the pusher moves forward to push the steel material, and when the pusher moves forward to push the steel material, the following The steel material collided with the side of the pusher and was difficult to handle. Therefore, it is conceivable to move the pusher in synchronization with the conveyance speed of the steel material, but this would complicate the structure of the device and result in large-scale equipment, resulting in an increase in cost.

Furthermore, as shown in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 54-26272 as a conventional example, there is also known an alignment device in which a belt conveyor is provided in an inclined manner so as to contact the end surface of the steel materials, but in this case, the conveyance of the steel materials Since the speed must be adjusted so that the belt speed always matches, the speed control system becomes complicated, and since the belt must be made of flexible materials such as rubber or cloth, contact with hard steel materials may cause short-term damage. There are problems such as wear and tear and maintenance is not easy.

[Means for solving the problem] A steel alignment device installed on one side of a wide conveyor for horizontally conveying steel bars, sections, etc.
A cylindrical rotating roller that rotates in a fixed direction due to the drive of a motor is supported so that its rotating shaft has a moderate inclination in a horizontal plane with respect to the conveyance direction of the steel material,
The end surface of the steel material is configured to come into contact with the hard, smooth finished outer peripheral surface of the rotating roller.

[Operation] The ends of the steel materials that are transported laterally by the conveyor come into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating roller, and the steel materials slide along the outer peripheral surface and are aligned.

[Example] The rod-shaped steel materials 1, 1, . . . shown in the figure are conveyed horizontally on a wide chain conveyor 2 in the direction of arrow A.
3 is a cylindrical rotating roller whose outer peripheral surface is hard and smooth by surface treatment, and the rotating shaft 4 of the rotating roller 3 has an appropriate inclination in the horizontal plane with respect to the conveying direction of the conveyor 2. It is rotatably supported by bearings 6, 6 on a mounting table 5 disposed on one side of the conveyor 2. In this case, the axial center of the rotating roller 3 is located at a level slightly lower than the conveying surface of the conveyor 2. The mounting table 5 is provided so as to be freely pivotable in a horizontal plane about a vertical axis 7, and
An arc-shaped guide hole 8 with the vertical axis 7 as the center of curvature is provided in the mounting table 5, and a guide shaft 9 is inserted into the guide hole with a loose fit. By rotating the mounting table 5 around the vertical axis 7 within the contact range, the inclination angle θ between the rotating roller 3 and the conveying direction of the conveyor 2 can be adjusted as appropriate. Further, although not shown, the height of the mounting table 5 is adjustable, so that the height of the rotating roller 3 can also be adjusted. Reference numeral 10 indicates a motor which is a drive source for rotating the rotating roller 3 in the direction of arrow B, and there is a transmission between a pulley 11 fixed to one end of the rotating shaft 4 of the rotating roller 3 and a pulley 12 fixed to the drive shaft of the motor 10. A belt 13 is stretched so that the rotational power of the motor 10 is transmitted to the rotating shaft 4 via the transmission belt 13. In addition, 14 indicates a wood collection table installed at the tip of the conveyor 2, and 15 indicates a chute rail that is tilted downward toward the conveyance direction in order to bridge the steel materials 1, 1 from the top of the conveyor 2 to the wood collection table 14. .

In the steel material aligning device configured in this way, when the steel materials 1, 1, . Although the steel members are pushed to the opposite side by the reaction force, since the rotating roller 3 is forcibly rotated, the steel members are not hindered from moving in the direction of arrow A, and each steel member does not lose its parallel state. Although the reason for this is not necessarily clear from a mechanical point of view, it works in this way by forcibly rotating the rotating roller 3. According to experiments, even if the rotating direction of the rotating roller 3 is opposite to the arrow B, the same effect occurs.

[Effects of the invention] A large number of steel materials sent by a conveyor can be aligned during transportation without requiring any manpower, resulting in labor savings. In addition, since it has a simple configuration of simply rotating the rotating roller, it has beneficial effects such as low equipment cost, durability, and easy maintenance.
