(Prior Art) Fuel tanks for motorcycles, etc. are generally constructed by installing the fuel tank over a main frame or a seat frame extending rearward from the main frame, and attaching a mounting piece provided at the rear end of the fuel tank to the main frame or seat frame. They are stacked and fixed to the stays provided in the main body through vibration-proof cushioning material.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) As described above, motorcycles and the like are configured to have various electrical components located below the rear end of the fuel tank. On the other hand, the shape of the fuel tank is such that its top surface curves downward from the center toward the rear. For example, during rainy weather or when washing the car, water droplets adhering to the top surface of the fuel tank will flow down the top surface of the fuel tank. The water flows backwards and downwards, falls downward from the rear end of the fuel tank, and drops of water fall onto electrical components that do not want water to adhere to them. Therefore, there is a problem in that each electrical component must be protected with a cover or the like, or each electrical component must be mounted at a location away from the bottom of the fuel tank.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to solve the above problems, the present invention consists of a mounting member to which the rear end of the fuel tank is attached from above in a stacked manner, consisting of a stay and a cushion material. A groove extending in the vehicle width direction is formed at a position rearward from the rear end of the fuel tank. The height of the upper end of the rear wall forming this groove is higher than the rear edge of the fuel tank.

That is, the mounting member 17 includes a stay 18 joined by welding or the like between the seat rails 7, and a cushion material 1 such as rubber provided on the stay 18.
As shown in the plan view of FIG. 4, the stay 18 has a bolt insertion hole 20 formed in the center, positioning holes 21, 21 on both left and right sides, and a cushion material 19. As shown in the plan view of FIG. 5 and the side view of FIG.
Also, protrusions 23, 23 are formed on both sides to fit into the holes 21, 21, respectively, and the cushion material 19 is fixed to the upper surface of the stay 18 so that the protrusions 23 fit into the holes 21. The mounting piece 16 is stacked on the cushion material 19 in this state, and the mounting piece 16 and the mounting member 17 are screwed together via the bolt 24, thereby mounting and supporting the fuel tank 11 on the frame.

By the way, when the fuel tank 11 is fixed to the mounting member 17, the rear end of the cushion material 19 is located rearward than the rear end of the mounting piece 16, and the upper surface of the rear end of the cushion material 19 has a groove in the vehicle width direction. Groove 25
is formed, and this groove portion 25 is located below the rear end of the attachment piece 16. The upper end of the wall 26 provided at the rear end of the cushion material 19 forming the groove 25 is located above the upper end of the mounting piece 16.

In the above, when washing the car or driving in the rain, water droplets on the top surface of the fuel tank 11 flow backwards according to the slope of the top surface of the fuel tank, but the water flowing backwards flows into the groove portion 25 from the rear end of the mounting piece 16. The water that has flowed into the groove 25 flows to the side of the vehicle body through the groove 25, and as shown in FIG. Falling outside the vehicle. In particular, since the upper end of the wall 26 constituting the groove 25 is located above the upper end of the mounting piece 16, the mounting piece 16
The force of the water flowing down from the rear end causes the groove 25
This prevents you from climbing over the ground and falling directly downwards.

(Effect of the invention) As explained above, according to the invention, a groove extending in the vehicle width direction is formed on the upper surface of the mounting member to which the rear end of the fuel tank is attached, and in this groove, the fuel flows rearward along the upper surface of the fuel tank. Since water is received and removed to the sides of the vehicle, even if electrical components such as the start magnet switch and battery that do not allow water to adhere are placed below the rear end of the fuel tank, water will fall onto the top surface of these electrical components. There is no need to provide a special cover or to dispose these electrical components away from the lower rear end of the fuel tank as in the past.

In addition, since the grooves are provided on the upper surface of the cushion material, there is no need for an increase in the number of parts.Furthermore, even if the grooves deteriorate due to the influence of rainwater over many years, it is possible to simply replace the cushion material, which is inexpensive. Moreover, the replacement work is easy.
