Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve rapidity in communication by attaching an interruption function on an exchange, and making facsimile equipment identify an emergency message by attaching the emergency message on a facsimile call and attaching the display function of the emergency message on the facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:When a caller station C desires to communicate with a callee station A, the exchange PBX of the callee station A transfers an incoming call signal to the callee station A when the callee station A is communicating with another station B. As the incoming call signal, a signal with a band area not being a disturbance signal for a message from another station B can be accepted. The callee station A receives a page completion signal from another station included in a phase D, and transmits a temporary holding signal to another station B. The callee station A receiving the temporary holding signal from another station B sends a line switching signal to the exchange PBX. The exchange PBX receiving the line switching signal switches a line from another station B to the caller station C. After communication with the caller station C is completed, the callee station A transmits the line switching signal to the exchange again, then, starts the communication with another station B.

Conventionally, the Hitachi high-speed facsimile HIFA was used as a means to urgently send a document to the other party using a facsimile machine.
As discussed on page 35 of the X47 instruction manual, the word "urgent" was added to the beginning of the image received by the other party as a message to the called station. Therefore, the total length of the receiving paper of the called station is longer than a normal receiving paper, so even if there are other messages in the receiving tray, there is no risk of them getting mixed up. However, the current situation is that you don't notice it unless you look at your inbox. Furthermore, this method is not possible if the line at the called station is blocked.

A possible solution is to use a call waiting service. Call waiting service is provided for telephone service, and as shown in Figure 8, calling station C is called station A.
If the called station A is already communicating with another station B, the PBX to which the called station A is subscribed will notify the called station A that there is an incoming call from the calling station C. When the user of called station A hooks up, the communication station is switched from B to C. After communication between called station A and calling station C is completed, communication with another station B is resumed. A feature of call waiting services is that line switching is always done manually.

Therefore, when called station A and another station B are communicating by facsimile, calling station C cannot interrupt the communication. Furthermore, since the interrupt signal from the calling station C enters the line between the called station A and the other station B, it also causes image disturbance, as described in the call waiting catalog.

There is no problem if the BX outputs incoming call number 4 below 100Hz. The subsequent sequence will be explained using FIG. If the facsimile control unit FC which received the incoming call No. 4 has time to receive the signal indicating the end of the message page from the other station B, it may send back a signal confirming the incoming call No. 4 to the exchange at a low frequency. Then, the exchange PBX makes the calling station wait until a line switching signal is received from the called station A.

The time series is determined based on CCITT (International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee) Recommendation T.30 as shown in Figure 3. That is, a facsimile call consists of five phases. Phase A is to set up the call, phase B is to identify the function, confirm the conditions for communication, and command the selected conditions, and phase C is to simultaneously perform the in-message procedure phase C1 and the message transmission phase C2, and the in-message procedure C1 Phase D provides complete signals for in-message procedures, such as in-message synchronization, error detection and correction, and transmission line monitoring; Phase D provides post-message signals for message end signals, confirmation signals, multiple original signals, facsimile control procedure end signals, etc. Phase E of the procedure is the cancellation of the facsimile call.

Upon receiving the line switching signal, the exchange PBX switches the line from other station B to calling station C. In the unlikely event that calling station C is a telephone, the exchange similarly sends the incoming call number 4 to called station A, so if it is a telephone, the facsimile control unit FC does not send a temporary hold signal to other station B, but simply sends the call. You may continue. The method for distinguishing between a telephone and a facsimile is described in the above-mentioned CCITT Recommendation T, 30, and is well known.

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment according to the present invention. In order to eliminate the unfairness that other station B is temporarily on hold until the communication between calling station C and called station A is completed, memory control is applied to the exchange PBX. The system is equipped with a section MC, a memory M, and a switching device S that connects and connects the memory and the line. In Figure 2, when called station A issues a line switching signal from Kyokutsuki B to calling station C, exchange PB
X connects the line of other station B to memory M, resumes communication with other station B, and imports the message into memory. If the message ends before calling station C ends communication, the line with other station B is disconnected at that point. After the calling station C completes the communication, the message in the memory is read out to the called station A.

In addition, Fig. 5 does not require memory as shown in Fig. 4, and eliminates the unfairness that the other station B is temporarily on hold until the communication between one calling station C and the called station A is completed. , other station B
This is another embodiment in which the called station A alternately sends a line switching signal to the exchange PBX each time the page of each message of the calling station C is completed.

By the way, so far the explanation has been about message communication. Next, the output of the obtained message will be explained. Messages from other station B and calling station C received by facsimile control section FC are outputted via recording section PR. At this time, in order to prevent message confusion between other station B and calling station C, as shown in FIG.

Further, if the called station A is able to interrupt communication with another station B only when the calling station C sends an emergency message, there is less risk of bothering the other station B. In this case, if the facsimile machine of the calling station C is set with a switch for transmitting an emergency message, it is easy to incorporate the code into the phase B.

It is possible to determine whether a message is urgent by incorporating a code into phase B of FIG. That is, in Fig. 6,
After recognizing the incoming call from calling station C, it temporarily puts other station B on hold and when communicating with calling station C, determines whether it is an emergency message, and if it is an emergency message, starts communicating with calling station C, If the message is not an emergency message, the message from the calling station C is not received and communication with the other station B may be resumed.

In addition, as shown in Figure 4, the PBX exchange is equipped with a memory function so that while called station A is receiving an emergency message from one calling station C, the message from another station B is stored in the exchange. It is also possible to reduce the temporary holding time.

Alternatively, if it is an emergency message, calling station C can interrupt the message, but in that case, as shown in Figure 5, the called station A will receive an emergency message, and as shown in Figure 5, other station B and calling station C will alternately send page after page. You may also do so.

Furthermore, a paper detection sensor-PS is attached to the tray t2 for detecting a message in the emergency message tray t2, and when an emergency message is detected, the facsimile control unit FC shown in Fig. 1 is notified and the message is displayed on the display unit DSP. 0 to be done
The information may be displayed by voice, or by displaying it on a liquid crystal panel if available. As shown in FIG. 7, if the emergency message is not retrieved even after a fixed or irregular period of time has elapsed, the user of the called station A can be more conveniently contacted.
