Conventional boiler dry-firing prevention is achieved by using a multi-stage water level detection mechanism in a level gauge connected to the boiler body, for example, by making contact with the water surface using multiple electrode rods with different lower end heights to issue a conduction signal. It is known to detect the water level and control the stop and start of a water pump.

In this conventional device, the connecting pipe that connects the level gauge with the water level detection mechanism and the boiler body is usually a thin tube, and there is a risk of clogging due to sludge or freezing, even if all the water in the boiler body evaporates. If water remains in the level gauge and the water level is above level H or above level M during the descent, the water pump will not start.
The level L interlock did not operate, and combustion continued, resulting in dry firing, which caused a problem that could lead to boiler damage.

[Example] An example of the present invention will be described using an example of a once-through boiler. In FIG. 1, the boiler is equipped with a water pipe 1 containing a smoke pipe 2, a combustion chamber 3 on the inside, and a flue 4 on the outside. 5 is an upper header, 6 is a lower header, 7 is a water supply pump, 8 is a blowout pipe, and 9 is a steam pipe. A communication pipe 10 is provided to connect the lower part of the lower header 6 and the upper part of the upper header 5, and a level gauge 11 is provided in parallel or in series (parallel in the figure) in the middle.

Inside the level gauge 11, as shown in FIG. 2, there is a water level detection end 16 formed by four electrode rods 12, 13, 14, 15 whose lower ends have different heights, and which are connected to the water surface. It serves as the detection end of a water level detection mechanism that detects the water level by making contact and emitting a conductive signal. This set water level is level H...When the water level rises and exceeds this level, the water supply pump 7 is stopped.

It is equipped with a timer that sets the time required for the water level to rise or fall at a normal speed during the journey between these set water levels, and a signal indicating that the set water level has been reached will not be emitted even after the set time elapses after startup. It is configured to occasionally issue an abnormal signal.

In this case, if the water level of the stopped boiler is, for example, between level H and level M, if the boiler is started, only combustion will start while the water pump 7 remains stopped. The normal rise and fall time of the water level between level H and level M in this startup state (normal fall time in this case) T HM is the volume between level H and level M, V HM is the maximum evaporation capacity.
When W nax , T HM = V HM /W nax is calculated, a timer is set in advance using this time, and the timer is started at the same time as the boiler is started. If the connecting pipe 10 is not blocked, the water level will drop and the water level in the level gauge 11 will also drop, and the water level will reach M at the latest after T HM time.
It should reach the level. Therefore, even if the timer activated at the same time indicates the elapse of the THM time after activation, a signal that has fallen below level M (a conduction OFF signal when falling) is not emitted (the conduction signal does not disappear). It is assumed that there is an abnormality and a "dry firing" alarm is issued to stop combustion.

Moreover, when the water level is started in a state between level M and level L, the water supply pump 7 and combustion also start. The normal rise and fall time for the water level (normal rise time in this case) T ML for this is defined as T ML = V ML /Q-, where V ML is the volume between level M and level L, and Q is the discharge amount of the water supply pump 7. Calculate as W nax and set the timer with this time.
A timer is also activated when the boiler is started, and if the water level does not reach level M even after T ML time has elapsed, a warning will be issued stating that there is an abnormality around the water level gauge and there is a possibility of dry firing.

When the normal rising/lowering time between level L and level H (in this case normal rising time) T HL is the volume between level L and level H is V HL , then T HL = V LH /Q-W It is also possible to obtain this using nax , set this to a timer, and issue an alarm when level H has not been reached even after the THL time.

Furthermore, when the water level is started when the water level is below level L, the water supply pump 7 is started, but no combustion occurs. The normal rising time (normal rising time in this case) T OL at this time is calculated as T LO = V LO /Q, where the volume from the amount of stored water from zero to level L is V LO , and this is set in the timer. However, an alarm may be issued when the water level has not reached level L even after the TLO time.

"Effects of the Invention" The present invention is equipped with a timer that sets the normal rising and falling time required for the water level to rise and fall based on the storage volume between different water levels and the normal evaporation amount and normal water supply amount between the water levels. , after starting between a certain water level, if a predetermined water level signal is not emitted even after the normal rising/lowering time for the water level has elapsed, it is configured to determine that there is an abnormality and issue a caution signal. By doing so, it is possible to reliably prevent the boiler from running dry due to incorrect display of the level gauge due to blockage of the conduit to the level gauge, etc., and to ensure safe operation without any accidental damage to the boiler. It also has the effect of simplifying the process.
