緑、青の三原色光の前面への透過量を、複合映像
信号から夫々取り出した三原色信号に基づいて液
晶表示パネルにより制御し、その透過した三原色
光を合成してスクリーン上に投射する液晶プロジ
エクシヨン装置において、赤、緑、青の３つの表
示エリアに分割されその各表示エリアに対応して
夫々その背面より三原色光が照射される単一の液
晶表示パネルと、複合映像信号から取り出した三
原色信号を夫々１ライン分づつメモリしてその三
原色信号を各表示エリアに対応するよう時間圧縮
を施して時分割的に出力し前記液晶表示パネルに
供給するラインメモリと、前記ラインメモリに入
力される三原色信号を一旦デジタル信号に変換す
るアナログ／デジタル変換器と、前記ラインメモ
リから出力される三原色信号をアナログ信号に変
換するデジタル／アナログ変換器とを備えたこと
