Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a malfunction, to travel a tape at a high speed, and to stabilize an output by providing a magnetic head means for reading control information to abut to the recording surface and the opposite side surface of a recording medium to travel at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A CTL coding control signal is recorded on a magnetic tape 2 while the magnetic tape 2 is delivered so as not to be wound around a rotary drum 7 and brought into contact with an audio control A/C head 9. At the time of a high-speed cueing, the rear surface of the magnetic tape 2 is brought into contact with an exclusive-use reproducing head 10, which is provided separately from the A/C head 9, the magnetic tape 2 is traveled at a high speed, and a control information signal is detected from the rear surface of the tape 2. Consequently, the abrasion of the head 9 can be reduced, and the malfunction can be prevented. Further, since the control information signal is detected from the rear surface, the tape 2 is not damaged. Moreover, since the tape 2 is never brought into contact with the head 9 at the time of the high-speed traveling, a sufficient high-speed traveling can be obtained.

Therefore, in order to detect such information, C
It has been proposed to perform cueing using a TL coding method. In order to detect the position of the video track during playback, control information signals such as index signals and address signals for cueing are recorded for each piece of recorded information, and these signals and CTL signals are detected during playback. It is used to cue up. That is, in the recording mode, the duty ratio of the search signal of the capstan motor is changed by the A/C head 9, and the index signal and address signal (CT
L coding data) is recorded as a digital signal at the same time as the recording information. Then, during high-speed cueing (high-speed search), as shown in FIG. 4, the magnetic tape 2 is fed out so as not to be wound around the rotating tram 7, and the signal is detected while making contact with the A/C head 9. This regenerated 4
No. 3 is processed as digital data, so that the magnetic recording tape 2 can be stopped at any desired program or address.

In the apparatus with the above configuration, the control information signal which is CTL coding data is A
/C head 9 is recorded on the magnetic tape 2. and,
During high-speed cueing, press the back side of magnetic tape 2 or A as shown in the figure.
The magnetic tape 2 is run so as to come into contact with a dedicated reproducing head 10 provided separately from the /C head 9, and control information No. 13 is detected from the back surface of the magnetic tape 2. in this way,
Since the -V reproducing head 10 is installed in the middle of the tape running path to detect the control information signal, damage to the magnetic tape 2 and wear of the A/C head 9 as in the conventional case are significantly reduced, and malfunctions are prevented. Prevented. At this time, since the control information signal is detected from the back side of the tape, the reproducing head 10 only comes into contact with the base film on the back side of the tape, and the magnetic tape 2 is hardly damaged. Furthermore, since the magnetic tape 2 does not come into contact with the A/C head 9 during this high-speed running, the load is reduced and the magnetic tape 2 can run at a sufficiently high speed. At the same time, the magnetic tape 2 is transferred to the A/C head 9.
This eliminates the need for a contact mechanism, improving reliability and reducing costs.

The above-mentioned raw head 10 may be placed anywhere as long as it is in contact with the back side of the tape, but as shown in FIG. If provided, magnetic tape 2 can be used during high-speed search.
There is no need to extend the edges, and the mechanical mechanism can be simplified. In addition, in order to eliminate the fluttering of the magnetic tape 2 during high-speed running, a taper for guiding the magnetic tape 2 is provided in the raw head 10, and the magnetic tape 2 is set at a position where it protrudes slightly (about 1 mm) from the cassette 1. or 9
1st thing. Then, by running the magnetic tape at high speed in such a state and reproducing the control information signal, which is CTL coding data, with the reproducing head 10, an arbitrary address or index is detected, and the position of the desired recorded information on the magnetic tape 2-1 is detected. It is possible to accurately detect and stop tape running instantly, making it possible to stably perform high-speed cueing.

Further, although the reproducing head IO can be a wire-wound type head, if it is formed of a magnetoresistive element (hereinafter referred to as an MR element), even more reliable high-speed cueing becomes possible. That is, the wire-wound type head is a magnetic flux differential type head, and the output changes depending on the amount of change in magnetic flux, and the output changes depending on the running speed of the magnetic tape 2. Therefore, the tape running speed changes between the start and end of winding of the magnetic tape 2, and the output changes. For this reason, there is a limit to high-speed running speed. However, the head using the above-mentioned MR element is a magnetic flux response type head that changes depending on the magnitude of the magnetic field but does not depend on the amount of change in magnetic flux, so that a constant output can be obtained regardless of the speed of the magnetic tape 2. Furthermore, since it can be made smaller and lighter, it can be installed even in small spaces.

In the past, the A/C head 9 was used for both recording and playback, and stable recording was possible because the tape speed was low during recording, but when running at high speed, the magnetic tape 2 moved in the track width direction. If you try to play back with the same track width as the recording width, the output will decrease by the amount of the deviation in the track width direction, resulting in unstable output. However, according to the present invention, since the recording head and the reproducing head are provided separately, the track width W2 is increased by the amount of tape running deviation in the track width direction with respect to the CTL track width W1, as shown in FIG. (see FIG. 4(a)), or by making it smaller (see FIG. 4(b)), so that even if a deviation occurs, a constant track width can always be detected.
Stable output can be obtained. In the figure, 11 indicates a playback head track.
