Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] 1. A current limiting element with non-linear voltage-current characteristics is housed inside the mounting tube, and electrically insulating ceramic, conductive ceramic, or conductive material is used at both upper and lower ends of the mounting tube. An upper electrode and a lower electrode made of a metal having a property are hermetically sealed with glass, glass solder, or an inorganic bonding material such as a metal, and the upper electrode, the lower electrode, or the end of the mounting tube is exposed to high temperature and high pressure. 1. A lightning arrester characterized in that a notch is formed to provide a thin-walled portion or a thin-walled portion that melts or ruptures earlier than other portions due to an arc. 2. The lightning arrester has a cap fitting 7 attached to a covered cylindrical head 5c formed at the upper center of the shade portion 5a of the insulator body 5.
