出することによつて原稿を読取る画像読取装置に
おいて、上記原稿の読取りに先立つて読取られる
べくかつ上記原稿と異なる状態に配された白基準
面と、上記原稿からの反射と上記白基準面からの
反射との間に生じる信号レベルの差に基く補正を
施した基準レベル信号と上記基準面を読取つて得
た信号を大小比較する比較手段と、この比較結果
に基いて上記原稿を読取つて得た信号レベルを調
整する調整手段とを備えたことを特徴とする画像
