り、開極動作において両主接点1a,4aが離反
した後、遅れて両補助接点9a,5aが離反する

に前記両主接点1a,4a間に発生するアークに

2乃至3mmにした場合、アークの移行が最も迅速
かつ円滑に行われ、従つてアーク電圧が早く上昇
して高限流にさせられるのである。
