内燃機関の回転変動により30Hz〜200Hz(4気筒
の場合)に亘る広範囲であることから、前記のよ
うに単一の低周波数のみ消音する消音器では不都
合であつた。

なるように設定されており、夫々の可変共鳴パイ
プ10,11,12によつて異なる低周波数の騒

数により所望に設定する。回転軸8は、内燃機関
の回転数を検出してその回転数に応じて回転位置
を変化するステツプモータ等により回転駆動され
るようになつている。すなわち、内燃機関の回転
数が高い場合には短尺の可変共鳴パイプを固定共
鳴パイプ3に対向させ、内燃機関の回転数が低い
場合には長尺の可変共鳴パイプを固定共鳴パイプ
3に対向させるように回転軸8を回転させるよう
になつている。
